The Illustration Rare version was never part of the Japanese set, but instead a promo given alongside booster box purchases. I would imagine if it'll be released internationally it will likely be as a promo or part of a special set later on in the year

To me 10 ex cards doesn't make much sense as it would leave Hop with no Illustration Rares at all since Snorlax would be between Reshiram and Furret, Corviknight would be between Lycanroc and Reshiram (where N's Zorua is likely taking the slot), and Rookidee through Cramorant would all be after...

Unfortunately not. With Iono's Electrode at 27 and Iono's Tadbulb at 29, there's no room for Iono's Shinx, Luxio, nor Luxray. The only Iono card that could fit would be a Tera Electric Mismagius, but I don't see that being very likely to happen

Nope. Personally, I'm happy to see variety amongst the IR choices. I'm sure that plenty of the IR and SIR cards will feature Trainer's Pokemon, especially now with 6 SIR Pokemon which could mean all 4 Trainers + 2 others. Furthermore, we already have 3/12 Japanese IR cards with Trainer's Pokemon...
