I don't think Cards should be used, seeing that in the XY set all Pokémon which has a discard energy text omits the card. For example Talonflame which reads: "Discard all R Energy attached to this Pokémon." Or better yet Raichu, which reads: "Discard all Energy attached to this Pokémon."
