“Black Bolt” and “White Flare” Sets Now Confirmed to Release in June, Hinting at “Black & White” Game Remakes?

As much as I appreciate a Gen 5 set, I hope ILCA doesn't just pull up with a BW remake...

It's possible that this time something great might come around but I can also wait another few years for them to figure things out a little more

I wonder if the Victini promo will feature the Chinese art we have been missing View attachment 20143
It would be super cool if Japan gets this version of Victini EX.
But I somehow don't think it'll be in this set since this card is actually a reprint of Victini Ex which was released as a deck with different art in Japan. It would be cool but somehow weird. They had to put a regular version of Victini Ex into the set plus this version as an SAR while both actually then being reprints. I hope they'll do it but I think it's not very likely.

I kind of like this. Generation 5 has the most Pokémon I dislike or don't care much about, but nowadays they even create some amazing artwork for some boring Pokémon; and I like sets with a consistent theme.
If it translates to an international special set, I like that more than Shrouded Fable, although I would have preferred Generation 2.

Nobody like nobody could have expected this.
I disagree. Following patterns, the same expectation would be remakes during Gen 10. Them coming next year is only expected by people who don't pay attention and for some reason think we get one every Gen.

That said, this is unlikely to hint at a remake. Why would they release it in June?

I don't mind "Black 3 & White 3" games but why does Legends: Z-A keep getting delayed??

And, Is this what they are doing to celebrate Pokémon's 30th anniversary? Seems very odd to focus on gen 5.
There has been zero indication of Z-A getting delayed. Don't take speculation as fact. They also can't just move sets around like that. If WPM is right about a later release, it was planned all along.

The BW remake speculation is also a massive stretch. I highly doubt we're getting that, especially before Z-A

I think the reasoning for doing Gen 5 for the next self-contained “print every Pokémon” set is because it and Gen 7 are the only other wholly self-contained lineups, though I suppose you could also do Gen 3 since printing Wynaut and Azurill doesn’t mean you’d have to print their evolutions. But for instance, they probably wouldn’t do Gen 2 right now because it’d mean printing Zubat/Golbat, Horsea/Seadra, Scyther, and so on to go with their evolutions.

Hopefully we will see a Psychic version of Victini (seeing that Victini was already released as a Fire type); this set will mark the first Snivy, Servine and Serperior cards since the XY era. As all 156 Unova Pokémon will be in this new set, we will also see Antique Plume Fossil to go alongside Antique Cover Fossil that was previously released. So already, we technically have 158 cards already confirmed for the English version, and that's without having the set name for the English version.

With the Legends ZA I'm concerned as hell we may be getting a surprise remake as mid as shining diamond/pearl
this is what i’ve been expecting for next year honestly, with already not having a holiday game this year and no hint of when anything is happening next year, i’ve been wondering if they might drop some low effort gen 5 remakes in the BD/SP style in the first half of 2025 to tide us over lol.

it would be the easiest way to quickly release something that’s guaranteed to sell, for as little effort possible… which seems to be gamefreak’s MO lately lol

1. If it is delayed, maybe it's because of lack of game details officially revealed since initial trailer at this time, and/or development hit snag severe enough for them to port it to switch 2 and cancel the switch 1 version. No peep about Z-A since pokemon day 2024? Unless we hear more before the monrh of pokemon day 2025, that could be a hint that a snag might have been hit, though nothing is genuine unless it comes from official mouth...

2. Who knows if it's speculation? The 15th anniversary of Black and white in japan is 2025, so although not 100%, I believe that unless 2025 passes with zero word about a black & white hd version, speculatuon on that front's not too farfetched for the anniversary of 5th gen, or is it?

Serperior was in silver tempest

Snivy was in a tag team...

There really aren't many Unova Pokemon that have been forgotten in the TCG at the moment. Patrat, Watchog, Snivy and Servine are the only ones who haven't been printed since SWSH. After that, the Tepig and Frillish lines from Battle Styles are the Unova Pokemon that have gone the longest without cards.

No, if there are still no sets about Z-A it is because it will obviously be launched later that year. Forget about fifth gen remakes already, only the two first remakes (FR/LG, HG/SS), appeared on consecutive generations, it's aways been every two generations since then (OR/AS, BD/SP). It also wouldn't make much sense to have a remake for the fifth generation games and then a Legends not based on the same region. And, this is more of a personal wish of mine, but I hope the fifth gen remakes are personally done by Game Freak so we have better quality games than we had with BD/SP.
