(1) Beta 'Pokemon TCG Online' Now Live; Black and White Rules In Effect [3/24]

^ We discussed it a little bit in another thread that is now locked. I don't think it's going to stop people from physically playing the TCG. I know as someone who is mainly a collector that it will not affect my card buying. But from a competitive standpoint I can't help but be insanely excited. I don't know anyone in the Cincinnati, OH area that plays that is around my age (I, being 25, would feel awkward hanging out with a bunch of players that aren't around the age of 18 or higher. Maybe I shouldn't? But that's just the way I feel. Have no problems on a message board however. Am I being ridiculous?).

Ah well, there's my thoughts on the matter.

Going to leagues and tournies is alot more fun than sitting home on a computer all day, and having no social experience. Its way too fun to drop just because of a computer program.

but on the other hand it could also bring in new players, my friend who only collected the cards in the past currently plays yugioh i showed it too him and he hasnt been able to stop playing the beta and went out and got more cards to play in real life.
 
It's stopping at 99% for me :(

Sad, because I wanted to play again. I've been out of the scene for quite some time (maybe some of you old bats remember me) and was looking forward to relearning the rules without having to spend any money. I'm using Firefox if that helps. Any of you using Explorer instead?
 
^Same here. Stops at 99%. The site is closed for maintenance so I am guessing they are fixing that, or just making the servers bigger (I use Chrome).
 
Usually if the game stops at 99% loading, you can fix it by reloading the page.
 
dont you just love it that you can beat a whole deck with just a seadra lol. i cant wait to make deck so on here cause the ones there right now suck alot lol
 
i beat all 3 leagues with a vaporeon , seadra, and feraligator lol

ye the game freezes at 99% but it usally takes 1-2 mins to get past that other than that its cool, some achievements in the beta dont show up like the three crown achivement for beating all 3 leagues.
 
Ive tried all 3 decks and in my personal opinion the Water deck is the easiest to win with. I had a lot of trouble winning with the Grass one. Keep in mind I haven't played the TCG since the Game Boy Color days.
 
So have any of you guys achieved all achievements yet? If so have you gotten anything for getting them all? I'm trying to do it, but winning all matches with that grass deck is pretty tough.
 
^arg the grass deck sucks. i only have grass to finish. water is the best to do. its so fun.

you gain nothing from achievments yet untill its fully released, i have 19 wins on the water deck and never obtained the win with this deck achievment.
 
I am playing the grass deck, with the default 'Hard/Dynamic' Difficulty, I am having fun. A few lags and freezes, but I could happily play this when I can't get to league.

Decks may 'suck', but they are a bit more enjoyable than the competitive decks.

You have to beat every character with the deck, you get a little green tick by the name when you've done it :)
 
im also thinking that maybe it will just kind of be a single player campaign and that you continue up the ranks till you hit decks like luxchomp and gyrados. then you will face a cheater who uses any card and you have to beat him with your mega deck...so epic lol
 
Yeah, the freezing sucks, more than once have I frozen just before the winning play. I'm rockin' Typhlosion, the simplistic decks remind me of the good old days :D
