I really want a re-make of Gold and Silver given the battery glitch that plagues the original games. However, I am going to remain reserved about this until the announcement is finally made. There have been many of references to Gold and Silver throughout this series of games and the last series, so there is a significant possibility that it is not a re-make, but something else that relates to Gold and Silver. Whenever there is something that is in high demand, we tend to blow up even the smallest evidence to large proportions. Something about this does seem to be pretty compelling, though...
However, if it is a re-make, it will be interesting to see what happens to it. I hope it is roughly as faithful to the original games as FrLg is to Pokémon Red and Blue. I may decide to import it as well.
We shall see.

If it is a re-make, I don't see a reason why Kanto would not be in it, as Kanto is integral to the plot in GSC. The Power Plant gets sabotaged, Janine replaces Koga, Blue replaces Giovanni, Cinnabar's volcano erupts, Blaine loses his gym, and Red goes to train at Mt. Silver. You have to go into Kanto to fight the Elite 4 anyway.

And I do mean that everything has to be the same. Pokeballs as big as your head, psncurberries, Volty the Electrode, Slowpoke Tails, etc.

YES! gold and silver remakes! i seriously hope this is true. i will just love game freak if they made a remake. i think the graphics will be great in a gold/silver remake. Waaa! i'm just so excited now! Silver is my favorite pokemon game

When I saw the pictures of G&S again it all came back
....sorry though, I don't think they're making a remake of Crystal, they never made a remake of Yellow...or blue for that fact...technically...its only Leaf-Green

I have already closed my GS remake petition until we get further news. If it is not a GS remake, the petition will continue on as normal. You all know what happens otherwise. =)
Anyway, let's just hope they don't screw this announcement up. Let's hope it's not "Pokemon: Battle Revolution: Gold and Silver Edition." That would suck if that happened.

This is so great. I don't even have a shred of doubt. My favorite Generation and the one that got me hooked on the video games is finally getting its long awaited dues with a remake. *So happy*

I <3 this Generation. I have like 5 games of all 3 of them, and the battery still isn't dead. I'm playing Gold ATM
