(1) Nintendo Direct Reveals English Localizations, World Tournament, 3DS [6/21]

Roxie is okay, if a bit cliche. I might buy the 3DS XL when it comes out, since I don't have the 3DS yet. Go big or go home!

3DS XL is going to be as big of a waste of money as the DSi XL was. Read as: a lot.

Lots of other stuff was talked about at Nintendo Direct, like 20 years of Kirby (supposedly 6 new games), New Super Mario Bros., Super Smash Bros (developed by Namco/Bandai) and Fire Emblem (2013 release was what I expected).

Here's a video

I had to actually go look up the word "therian" in 2 different places. It wasn't in my own dictionary, so I went to Dictionary.com. I got this.

the·ri·an
   [theer-ee-uhn]
adjective
1.
(in some classification systems) belonging or pertaining to the group Theria, comprising the marsupial and placental mammals and their extinct ancestors.
noun
2.
a therian animal.
That doesn't even make any sense.

in the U.S. on August 19th for $199.99.
I was hoping for an earlier release date, but whatever. I guess it could count as a late birthday present.
Roxie? I'm liking that name. :D
Also,Therian Formes? I don't even.

Therianthropy refers to the metamorphosis of humans into other animals. Therianthropes are said to change forms via shapeshifting. Therianthropes have long existed in mythology, appearing in ancient cave drawings such as the Sorcerer at Les Trois Frères.

That makes more sense.

Ahhhhhhhhh, that's more reasonable. Thank you.

Are you kidding me? As if the DSi XL wasn't unnecessary enough! I mean, at least make it look good! Also, SSB4 developed by namco? Why?? Didn't someone else used to develop it?
Anyways, hope the new SSB is good on 3DS.

HAL Labratories has developed past SSB games. No idea why Namco got the spot. Project Sora (from Kid Icarus (as well as SSBB I think)) will also be working on it, so I'm expecting nothing than the best.

Namco is merely aiding in the development of SSB4. I'm assuming many are thinking "It's Other M all over again", but if anyone makes sure there games are nothing bu the very best, it's Sakurai.

Also, 3DS XL. Very cool. Looks great.

It's good we're starting to get more English news of the games. It was only a matter of time after Pokemon Conquest came out. Glad the Main protagonists, Roxie, and Tornadus, Thunderus, and Landorus were revealed to US players. Now if we could just get a Keldeo and Meloetta reveal. NICE US TRAILER!!!!

HAL developed 64 and Melee but only provided materials for Brawl and didn't really have a hand in its development. Brawl was a massive collaboration between Game Arts, Paon, Monolith Soft and Intelligent Systems with Sakurai and Sora at the helm.

Namco Bandai has the manpower and talent to tackle a Smash Bros title, which is why they were chosen. I too, am expecting nothing but quality.

Wait! Namco is developing SSB4?! This means...

Newcomer Alert!

It seems that America is getting red and blue variants of the 3DS XL.
At first I went on a bit of a nerd rage over this, since the only version that really looked good was the black.
But upon further research I have found that the red and the blue variants will be like the red and blue DS Lites, where the outer top shell is colored and the rest is black.

I can rest again... I'm excited to see the silver European version though.

I'm pretty sure if namco is on this, they'll add Pac-Man. He was in Mario GP Arcade, too.

We'll see Pac-Man for sure; Tales, Tekken and Soul characters have a good shot too. I also think they'll try to fit in a representative from the Bandai side of the company, though I'm having trouble coming up with candidates as they mostly deal with licenses. .Hack is the franchise that comes to mind first, but the games have never appeared on Nintendo consoles. Solatorobo, perhaps?
