Did you ever see or try one though? I thought XLs were dumb but I bought one because of occasional hand cramps, and I loved the thing. The poor 3DS XL has seen more hate in less than two weeks than the Wii U has altogether. :|
As you can guess, I'm getting the 3DS XL (hopefully) as soon as possible. Almost all the hands-on reviews so far are praising the system.

Bisharp I completely understand your point(s). However this XL is looking to be a lot thinner from all the videos shown, and a comparison showed that it is barely, if at all, fatter than the original 3DS. So the only thing that would make it hard would be the width and length but that's not TOO bad an issue I would say. I think that everyone should know by now that these are less pocket-friendly to say the least. Really the only reason I replied again though is that you're a tad misinformed if you think that the 3DS hasn't been doing well. Yes, it had a rough launch. But the think has skyrocketed in sales since the price drop. It has been top seller in Japan for multiple months and is doing quite well here now to. It does not need to be brought up anymore that it had a poor launch I'd say.

Alan, you either share my OCD when it comes to smudges or you just don't like them. xD But either way, you should be glad to know that this system is MUCH less prone to smudges from what I have seen and heard. It has a matte like finish much like the Black DSi's.

The general consensus, from what I've seen, is that if one is mostly going to use their system in places wherever they go, the 3DS is better. If one would mostly use their system at home/not play it in short bursts, the XL might be a better choice.
