(1) 'Wild Blaze' Next Japanese Set! [12/12]

Well it looks like a few people in the thread on the xy set were correct, and Charizard will be getting a little bit more of a focus than Venusaur and Blastoise did. Not to mention "blaze" is in the title, so that might be a reference to Charizard's fire type. But looking forward to the Charizard cards, they are always appreciated as a collector (despite becoming ridiculously expensive very quickly most of the time).

I was worried that they wouldn't make a Charizard EX, and I was wrong! Can't wait to add it and its Mega Evolution to my fire deck!

I wasn't really worried, because I was sure they'd make one xD

I'm not sure if I'll be getting that theme deck, I like opening boosters and like this it's not really a surprise anymore. But that new set does sound awesome, imagine a M Charizard EX FA :'D

I didn't think that anyone didn't see M Charizard EX coming...

Anywho, excited to see Mega Charizard and hopefully some other cool Mega Pokémon.

I'd definitely like to see M Blaziken EX as well as M Charizard EX. It's a "Wild Blaze", so it shouldn't just limited to one fire-type...
There better be a shiny Charizard in the set in some form though, everyone loves a shiny Charizard!

I kind of wanted another 2 minisets, with 1 having Charizard Y and Mewtwo Y and the other having Charizard X and Mewtwo X, but I like this idea too. Maybe throw Houndoom in there too for all 4 Fire-type Mega Evolutions?

4 Mega Evolutions might be too many, I say 3 is a good number to have in a set. Mainly because it would be better to space these things out between sets I think. My prediction for this new set is something like this...2 Mega forms with 1 in each of the 2 sets in Japan.

Mega Charizard X
Type: Dragon
HP: 230
Ability: Tough Claws
This Pokemon's attacks do 30 more damage to the Opponent's Active Pokemon

Mega Charizard Y
Type: Fire
HP: 220
Ability: Fire Aura
All Fire type Pokemon's attacks do 20 more damage to the Opponent's Active Pokemon. Only 1 "Fire Aura" ability can be active at a time.

Just a prediction, but you know...I think these Megas will do something like this.

Pretty much confirmed that M Charizard-EX will have "Wild Blaze" written on the picture. :p

With just about half of the new Kalos Pokémon featured in Collection X/Collection Y, do you guys think that the other half will be featured in Wild Blaze/related sets...or will the new Pokémon be spread out even more, with Wild Blaze featuring less new Pokémon than Collection X/Collection Y?

Several Gen5 Pokemon got several cards across the BW sets. I'm guessing they'll do the same to some of the Gen6 Pokemon in the XY sets.
As someone who came back to the TCG after almost a decade to see three different Trubbish prints in just Plasma Storm, I think there'll be no shortage of Gen6 Pokemon in the XY sets.

Predictions for Wild Blaze

-Charizard EX
-M Charizard EX (Y)
-Blaziken EX
-M Blaziken EX
-Aegislash EX
-Zoroark EX
-Zygarde EX

Theme Deck

M Charizard EX (X)

Yeah, I'm sure some Kalos Pokémon introduced in X Collection/Y Collection will get more cards in Wild Blaze...but my question was whether or not Wild Blaze would finish introducing Kalos Pokémon (sans the hidden legends) into the TCG or if a third (or fourth) set would be necessary to do so.

It only took, what...three BW sets to introduce 150+ Pokémon in the BW-era, and with a number less than half that, I'd assume that the Kalos Pokémon will finish being introduced in Wild Blaze. But looking at the DP-era TCG, it took a larger number of sets to introduce all of the Sinnoh Pokémon.

There's also the fact that the BW sets didn't release non-Unova Pokémon at first, so even though there were a lot of them, there was no competition.

That said, I still wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the Kalos Pokémon are released in the new set, just because there really aren't all that many, especially if other Pokémon that become Megas are saved for later sets. Then again, single Japanese sets usually have less cards total than both of the Japanese double sets combined, so it still might take the 3rd set to release them all.

Don't know if people have posted the pictures yet but,

The preliminary images for the previously reported Wild Blaze and the M CharizardEX Deck have started to surface. Wild Blaze will be focusing on Mega Charizard X, while the deck will be focusing on Mega Charizard Y.

The images also have given us more information on the March block as a whole. It's confirmed that Wild Blaze will have 80 cards + secrets, and that the M CharizardEX deck will come with three holos. One of those obviously will be M CharizardEX, but the deck also looks like it'll come with it's own CharizardEX going by the base preliminary images. If that's the case then it might be inaugural for people to buy the deck if they want to play M CharizardEX from Wild Blaze; either that or March is going to be Charizard central. We just won't know until more details arise!

Anyone else really dislike the Charizard card art? I really hope that isn't the final art for them...

inb4 both of these Charizards have 5 energy attacks that deal more than 200 damage.

Because five energy attacks seem to be a thing with Charizard and they've always been enough damage to OHKO any Pokemon.
