RE: Durant mill (Durant NV/Palkia&Dialga LEGEND)

I wouldn't rely solely on Revives to keep your Durants in play. If you get to the point where you get trainer locked, you're just about boned once your opponent starts killing off your Durants. I suggest running some (2-3) Rescue Energy and 1-2 FSL.

From the looks of the Durant thread in the competitive discussion forum, Defenders seems to be OK, but in all the consensus is that it's not that useful in this deck, at least not useful enough to warrant running 4 of them. I'd drop them to 2 at most. Even at 1, Switch is also mostly pointless here, as even if your opponent Catchers up something to stall, by the time he does or after he does, Durant's should be just about the only thing on your bench and with only costing 1 energy, unless he is going to KO it, you can still attack the next turn fairly easy or retreat easy in the case of Beartic.

Cheerleaders Cheer is OK for draw power, but the second effect is likely never going to happen once your opponent sees Durant since they wouldn't want to draw more then they need to. After playtesting Durant myself, Juniper actually does well in high numbers in this deck for consistency, as you will find yourself at times with hands that aren't really going to do any good for a long time, and can actually be afforded to be discarded. Or the occasion when you junk arm most of your hand anyway and can get a fresh 7 cards.

Just a few observations.

RE: Durant mill (Durant NV/Palkia&Dialga LEGEND)

Scrap the PDL. Due to its horrible Weaknesses to Zekrom and Reshiram, it's a free two Prize cards for your opponent.

I am going to have to disagree with Izan on the Defender. If you want Durant to survive, you need the Defender. With only 70 HP, you need every bit of resistance you can get.

I'm liking your list quite a bit to be honest. I would make the following tweaks...

-1 Pokemon Communication
-3 Cheerleader's Cheer
-1 PokeGear 3.0
+3 Team Rocket's Trickery
+2 Professor Juniper/PONT

The Cheerleader's Cheer is unnecessary. Your opponent's gonna notice the fact you want to thin your deck, (fast), and not draw the extra card. TRT gets you one less card, (but if you're all set up, who cares?), but discards a card from your opponent's hand. Based on the size of his/her hand, this could be disrupting. PONT/Juniper is a hand-refresher if needed, in the case you get unneeded Trainers/Supporters.

Hope this helps.

RE: Durant mill (Durant NV/Palkia&Dialga LEGEND)

I think you don't really need hypno or legends to stall. If you add another catcher, you can drag up a high retreat tech or something and stall.

RE: Durant mill (Durant NV/Palkia&Dialga LEGEND)

In my list I plan on trying both KGL and PDL in it. I feel they are good stall tactics as well as an alternate opportunity to win. It will really depend on the match up you have which one you drop though.

RE: Durant mill (Durant NV/Palkia&Dialga LEGEND)

I don't think Bellsprout is worth it. To me, it is just begging for Yanmega Prime to KO it.

-1 N (your just putting cards back in your opponents deck)
-2 Switch (Just attach an energy to the active pokemon and either retreat it or mill with it)
-1 Bellsprout (why is this even in here?)
-1 Pokemon Communication (Every single pokemon is a basic, whats the point?)
+1 Twins (you will ALWAYS be behind in prizes)
+2 Lost Remover (extra disruption)
+1 Catcher (disruption and stalling)
+1 Professor Juniper (draw power)

Hope I helped.

Poke comm is complete overkill. Heck, you probably don't even need the pichu. With poke comm, you have to put another pokemon back in.

well, with 4 dual ball, 4 collector and 2 pokegear, you should get the T1 durant pretty consistently. I would add more energy so you can devour every single turn

For gods sake, take those Pichus away. If you can't get 4 Durants in two turns without Pichu (Pichu waists your first turn), you are extremely unlucky. Also, were you going to search for Pichu T1 or what? What do you do with Communication? Catcher >>>>> Bellsprout. (What were you thinking!? Trainer lock!? Just forget about the flower.) Oh, and add one more Rotom.

Actually, those suggestions are in the right direction. Four people think so. It is soooo small of a chance that you would draw into both Rotom and Communication because you only run 1 of both... And what are you going to do with that Vileplume once its Catchered up? Attack it? a smart player would already have an energy and Vileplume, and all they would have to do is attach another and retreat. Against Goth, they play a card called Switch (and DCE).

No one I've seen play vileplume puts energy on it. They would have to draw into DCE or have put one on as you said and no one does that. Bellsprout is a stall tactic against trianerlock and it's going to stay. If you want to suggest something else please do, but I'm not taking out bellsprout.
but any smart player would once they realize you can drag it up

anyway, its pointless to try to stall
you waste a turn dragging vileplume up, then they attach 1 energy, you use devour, then they retreat and continue attacking
you wouldnt be any better off than when you started, and if your opponent has the dce, they will probably kill your bellsprout and you will have wasted a turn.

-1 Bellsprout
-1 Pokemon Communciation

+2 Pokegear 3.0

I believe that that makes me the sixth person to suggest that you remove Bellsprout and Pokemon Communication. To follow-up on what Spidy said, IF your opponent has no energy on Vileplume/Reuniclus, no DCE in their hand, and no Switch (if they play Gothitelle) then you get the exact same amount of mill as if you had just attacked with Durant. Now tell me how any of that helps you at all. I'll answer my own question: It doesn't. Next, Pokemon Communication. If you don't want to replace it with the Pokegear, which I highly suggest due to it dramatically increasing your chances of getting a turn 1 Collector and some Twins later game, at least replace it with Pokeball. I'm not joking - the chance of you having 3 Durant and a Rotom with no way to get the last Durant AND your lone Pokemon Communication in your hand is so much less than 50% that a Pokeball is better than a Pokemon Communication.
