(2) More B/W Cards, Scans of 'Black' and 'White' Preview Tins

Yeah, the difference in person is very striking. The current gloss is insane:

Then again, their entire print quality and paper weights are vastly different and higher than (the current) prints in the US. The pigment in the BW prints are very strong.

Using a bright yellow border on a card that has 70% cool grey and 30% cool grey gradient for the picture border (and original full border) = tacky and not really thoughtful as to how the final print would result. It would even look marginally better if they had done a proper gradient (like even the original JP gold-border cards hard) to at least match it.
 
Yay, the english cards look pretty good! I'm glad they went to the Japanese numbering system.
 
I actually like the yellow border and really, the rarity symbol is pulling hairs, it really doesn't matter. I also like the holos, I'm really not getting what viper.fox was saying about them, but I really like them.
 
Not really pulling hairs :\ Merely making an observation that it was interesting they didn't use them.

Aw, darnit. I hate the Japanese numbering system. It's arranged by a type order that you have to actually memorize to get right.

Alphabetical order's so much easier to memorize and keep track of. Besides, it's somewhat fitting that #1 in the set in order would be a rare holo. Now it's just some stupid common.

Yellow borders, however, are fine.
/me wanted to say this before the weeaboos try and rebut him with silly arguments
 
It took me quite a while to get used to when I first got into it. I learnt the ordering by colour first to keep things simple. The nice thing is it does keep evolution lines together, so the overall presentation is generally nicer. My OCD does like alphabetized listings, though, so both order systems have their strong and weak points.

(For the record: please be more considerate in your wording. Not everyone who collects/likes the Japanese TCG are 'weeaboos', most of us are far from it.)
 
^The implication is that the weeaboos are the ones with the silly arguments. I don't have any problem with solid rebuttals whatsoever.

Yes, but I've yet to see a "silly" argument here, just general discussion and comparison points/rebuttals/thoughts on the TPCi choices re: design. Highly doubt it's going to go downhill anytime soon.
 
And that is what "anticipating the future" is for. I like to plan ahead for every contingency.

@DNA: I thought I was the only one who preferred the old English numbering system. It's not that I don't like the Japanese one but having all the important cards (the rare holos) in the beginning and together looks better to me... In my binders, my cards are organized by their set order and then I just put the ultra rares first...
 
So is Target and Walmart getting those B/W Tins later?

becaus my newpaper ad for Toy R Us says they have the B/W Tins in already o_O
 
I'm actually pleasantly surprised in the change of the numbering system. I like certain things Japan does differently in the TCG than the US, so this is just one more step towards that.

just got my hands on the tins....

the new cards just look ugly.

the yellow border is a total throw off from the techy-styled font and frames
it worked well for the japanese version cuz they had a nice silver border. these US ones are just garbage.
they look so cheap, and almost fake
