Yeah, the difference in person is very striking. The current gloss is insane:
Then again, their entire print quality and paper weights are vastly different and higher than (the current) prints in the US. The pigment in the BW prints are very strong.
Using a bright yellow border on a card that has 70% cool grey and 30% cool grey gradient for the picture border (and original full border) = tacky and not really thoughtful as to how the final print would result. It would even look marginally better if they had done a proper gradient (like even the original JP gold-border cards hard) to at least match it.
