  • 3 Rayquaza EX (XY 66)
  • 2 M Rayquaza EX (ROS 76)
  • 1 Swablu (ROS 73)
  • 1 Altaria (ROS 74)
  • 2 Hoopa EX (XY 71)
  • 2 Shaymin EX (ROS 77)
  • 2 Pikachu (GEN 26)
  • 2 Raichu (GEN 27)
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 32
  • 4 Professor Sycamore
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 1 Winona
  • 4 Ultra Ball
  • 4 VS Seeker
  • 3 Trainers' Mail
  • 1 Pokemon Fan Club
  • 2 Float Stone
  • 3 Sky Field
  • 3 Mega Turbo
  • 3 Rayquaza Sprit Link
  • 2 N
Energy: 12
  • 4 DCE
  • 8 Lightning Energy
Open Slots: 1

Strategy:
The Strategy is to use Hoopa EX to bring out the Rayquaza EX line, set up sky field, fill up the bench and use Emerald break. Due to battle compressor being in expanded, one way to set up is to ultra ball discard a lightning energy and then using mega turbo. The float stone should be attached to the Hoopa EX because if Hoopa is brought out, it has no way to attack, which will result in a DCE discard. Raichu is a secondary attacker, and is there in case Rayquaza gets KO'd.

Aren't you thinking in Steam Siege's cards? I'd change the float stones by Ninja Boys and add one or two Special Charge (to recover the DCE's). Also add one or two Pokémon Ranger to get over Glaceon-ex, Giratina-ex or Regice. The Altaria idea is good tho :D

I know everybody is itching to play this deck, but the one card that was huge to this deck was Sacred Ash. Without the ability to circulate the pokemon back into the deck, it breaks down quickly because of Parallel City. Once the pokemon are discarded from the bench there is no way to get them back into the deck. You will need an alternative way to circulate Pokemon in play. The two cards that do that right now is Revitalizer and Buddy-Buddy. My suggestion is to look at a way to integrate those cards into the deck to allow for circulation onto the bench.

Once Parallel city is dropped on a full bench of 8 it is hard to come back from the play. You only have 10 basics. The opponent will goat you into playing the big bench of eight for knock out. The opponent will drop parallel city on next turn. It will leave you with 5 basics discarded and no way to retrieve them. The opponent will then systematically take one pokemon after another, and you have no answer for the outcome because it will be a challenge to keep looping your bench with that many Pokemon.

Are you forgetting Super Rod. This deck should play 2 or 3 at least because of Parallel City. It's the best way to retrieve pokémon without Sacred Ash

Yes you are right. I am forgetting super rod.

Only time will tell, and I think it will have better outcomes with super rod, but I still don't think it is not enough to produce that big knockout power that Sacred Ash gave it. Playing two cards for 6, versus 1 card for 5, doesn't seem like a good exchange. I think the deck is going to be awkward. Mega Turbo will be harder to play without Battle Compressor. The trainer will have to overwork Sycamore and Ultra ball to get the energy in the discard pile. Which inadvertently means that the trainer will overwork super rod to get the pokemon back in the deck.

It will definitely be a different style of play as super rod pairs with Max Elixir a bit better, but Max Elixir is not always the most consistent way of hitting the energy on the basic before the mega evolution.

I just think that there will be better and more straight forward decks in the next rotation. Mega Ray Ray won't be as advantageous as trainers believe it is because it will be working against it's own synergy with Super Rod and Mega turbo. BC and Sacred Ash just brought a lot better synergy with the deck.

But ya, Super Rod would be a needed card for the deck.
