$5000 Pokemon Card?!

This is being sold by a top seller, the other Japanese Umbreon Star is being sold for $1500, both being sold by top sellers. Can someone explain why this card is worth so much? Doesn't make sense to me...

brianjapan in the past offered it for $800. I have seen it as low as $400.

That is still quite a bit for me. I am saving to go to worlds... I don't see that in my binder any time soon :(

That card looks like an ordinary Umbreon star to me.... (Japanese of course)

It should be worth like.... $5 dollars maybe....

It was given out as a reward prize for earning 70,000 points in tournaments.

It was a lot harder to get this card in Japanese than in English. (I believe it was a non holo POP card in English.) As mentioned, it was a reward prize for earning points.

I have 2 of them.
No, seriously. It is only worth what someone is willing to pay.
It can have a 1,000,000 tag on it.
If someone wants to pay that much for it, than that is what it is worth.

@konter: I don't think I will see it in my binder soon either.

@shadoworganoid - $5 is a pretty low guestimate, even for its English counterpart. The Japanese Umbreon, as stated above, is much harder to get. $5000 is too much. Rare card, definitely a grail for any Umbreon TCG collector.
 
Shakespeare: The english one wont see my Eeveelutions binder for a very very long time either :(
I know 1 person who has it, but their wanting a few of my Lv.X's for it (but I don't trade off my cards if I have singles).

But to keep on topic, someone just sold the espeon and umbreon on gym for $600
 
English one is worth no where near $100. $30-$40 is already pushing it. I hope you didn't pay too much =x
