BW/BW2 A quick question regarding the best way to go about EV training

Hi everyone.

I have read a few guides as I'm new to EV training and the competitive scene (used to play TCG a few years back).

My question is: What is the best way to go about EV training a Pokemon? What I mean by this is, I know what Pokemon to hunt and where but I'm starting on a Lvl.1 Poke which mean I'll be using Exp. Share to begin with until it can fend for itself. Now would you fight a lot of low level Poke's to fit as many EV points into one level, or try to level up fast and gain the EV's later? The way I was thinking is taking a big hitter into a low level route, sweeping a few of the Pokemon there and hoping to get a few bonus points per level, then finish off levelling at the day care (only fallback here is potentially missing out on/losing the moves I need for the build), simple way around that would be to Exp. Share in high level area without visiting the day care.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Also, if I use Macho Brace on my Active Pokemon, would the one with Exp. Share also get double EV points?

I would just do 2-3 battles against really high level Pokemon because then your would get up to around level 20 depending on what Pokemon you have. You would get a couple EVs by doing this, but then it'd be able to fight on its own. Macho Brace only doubles the EVs gained for the Pokemon holding it.

If this is in BW2, you should do the following:

-Give it Vitamins (eg. HP UP, Proteins, Etc.) until it cannot be fed anymore for the stats you desire to train it in (you should do this first because you cannot give it any more Vitamins once it hits 100 EVs in a stat).
-On Join Avenue you can get special training from the Dojo and meals from the Deli to increase the EVs further. Just check somewhere to see how many each meal/training gives.
-You can collect Wings on Marvelous Bridge and Driftveil Drawbridge, but it is rather tedious.
-Power Items give +4 EVs to the stat it is assigned to (if my Patrat has the Power Anklet and defeats a Lillipup, it gets +4 Speed and +1 Attack). Macho Brace is a good alternative if the Power Items are too much BP to handle.
-If a Pokemon is infected with Pokerus, it receives double the EVs. You can download a Pokemon with the virus off of Pokecheck.org and spread it to your other Pokemon.

That's about all you can do to speed up the process. If you prepare properly you can EV train a Pokemon in 15 minutes max.
