if i use message of ruins to a pokemon ... *like evee for example* then evee evolved. will absol G's attack still affect it?

No, it will not. Evolving removes effects on the Pokemon you evolve. The auto-KO effect would be removed thanks to evolving.

No because the pokemon you used it on has "disappeared"

To be more clear, if you use it on an Eevee, and he evolved, eevee is no longer their, so the effect doesn't work

ok, a follow up to this question. If i use Absol G's Message of ruin on my opponents pokemon, then on their turn they switch that pokemon to their bench, does that pokemon still get knocked out???

And to add further, Unown G completely stops the effect of Message of Ruin all together. I just found that out too. ;o

dmaster out.

^^ but in come relicanth if you use absol to bait out G's
and to consolidate all points anything that removes or prevents effects will stop ruin
so level up, evolving and benching remove
and unown G stops it

I think to be officially answered we will have to wait for the English version of the card. The japanese version says that the POKEMON hit my the attack is knocked out at the end of their turn, which would mean retreating wouldn't matter. More than likely though it will come to say the defending pokemon allowing the retreat affect.

lol i tot this thread was dead.. anyway yeah i also looked at the trans. and tot the only way to escape message of the ruin is to SSU/poketurn *SP* or evolve/level up so i guess we just wait for the eng. trans.

it better be the japanese way, becasuse if not then Absol isn't as good as it looks....

The wording on the japanese Absol is the exact same wording that was on the japanese Jirachi from LA. It will most likely be changed to "the defending pokemon" just like Jirachi's was...
and even if it's not, moving to the bench will still remove the effect, because moving to the bench removes all effects of attacks and/or special conditions from a pokemon.
