So just by looking at the deck list, you can kinda see where I'm going with this deck. I know it's a bit clunky going into it so any suggestions on making it more consistent are greatly appreciated, so here we go.
Pokemon:15
Absol: The main focus of the deck. Absol has one attack that really prevents your opponent from playing, by looking at the top 4 cards of either deck. Since this is for preventing your opponent from playing, usually you're going to be looking at your opponents deck and choosing cards they can't use on their next turn. Absol's second attack, Doom News, is an instant knock out on the opposing active after your opponents next turn. And since you're preventing them from playing the game, most of the time they won't be able to retreat to save their precious pokemon.
Yungoos/ Gumshoos Gx: This 2-2 line is to take a quick look at your opponents hand with Gumshoos's Search the Premises ability. This makes a quick and easy decision on whether or not to shuffle their hand with Red Card or Peeking Red Card or not. It can also be used after A Red Card shuffle to look at their hand and figure out what they're going to do next turn, if that's at all possible. Another plus to Gumshoos is his Gx attack for one energy for a quick knockout if things don't quite go your way.
Tapu Lele: This is just a given. Search for supporters like Delinquent and stuff. Constistency
Trubbish/Garbador BKP: This 2-2 line is to prevent those pesky abilities allowing your opponent to play the game. For example, let's block those Octillerys and Orangarus or more importantly, those Leles from grabbing those Sycamores. Also helps to solidify some matchups (looking at you Metegross)
Trainers:39
Shauna: So most people don't normally use Shauna and I understand why, but here it is extremely important. Seeing as we don't have N in our deck (Cause we don't want our opponent to get more cards) We need something to shuffle our cards back into our deck. That's where Shauna comes in to shuffle draw instead of discard draw. Will probably replace with Cynthia if/when she comes out.
Sycamore: Draw Support. I don't think this needs more explaining.
Guzma: Pulling up Pokemon that can't retreat? I think yes.
Wicke: Wicke probably also seems like a weird supporter to put in here, but it works quite well. Wicke shuffles both players hands into the deck and then draws the same number of cards in both players hands before. So if your opponent has a zero card hand and you have a six, will Wicke draws them nothing but you get a whole new fresh hand! It also works in shuffling your opponents hand if they have something to work with that you don't want them to have.
Bridgette: Why wouldn't you use bridgette here? Getting all your pieces out as soon as possible is essential!
Delinquent: Delinquent is important for stopping your opponent in the first place. If you can pull of a Red Card Delinquent combo, then your opponent is stuck at 1 card, while you get to control everything else they get. It's just a good card to use to stop your opponent. This card is also the reason we play six stadiums.
Tormenting Spray: Now here's a card you've probably never seen used, and it's no surprise. It's got such a random factor to it that it most likely never works. But here, well, you're controlling your opponents game, and they will most likely have a very small hand to work with, so with Tormenting Spray, you take that last little light they had and discard it right in front of them. It's still hard to pick a supporter which is why it's not maxed out at 4 but at 3.
Float Stone: Garbador shutting off abilities and free retreat. Need I say more?
Field Blower: Taking away your opponents float stones to get Absol's Doom News keeping knockouts is quite essential. Also just a good card in general.
Peeking Red Card: Peeking Red Card is a new card that just came out in Crimson Invasion, and it fits perfectly into what we are trying to do. It allows you to look at your opponents hand, and then decide if they shuffle and draw the same amount of cards, or keep the same hand. It adds so much disruption to your opponent and keeps the lock of not playing going as long as possible.
Red Card: Red Card is also good at prevention of playing. Making your opponent shuffle their hand and draw only 4 cards is quite amazing when you don't want them to play. It also combos with Delinquent to bring them to one card, so it's a must in this deck.
Parallel City: You don't want your opponent to overrun you with Pokemon do you? Well preventing them from benching their Pokemon is just what you need. Only 3 Pokemon on the bench is quite painful in this format, seeing as we use all 5 bench spaces for a 3 pokemon from Bridgette, a Lele to retrieve Bridgette, and another Lele for whatever supporter we need. Preventing that early on is heartbreaking.
Ultra Ball: How else are you going to get your Pokemon out?
Altar of the Moon: This was a last minute inclusion that I thought of. I had wanted more stadiums for Delinquent but didn't know what other stadium fit in this deck. So if anyone has any other suggestions on stadiums I'm all ears. This at least gives my pokemon some more retreat options if needed.
Energy: 6 Darkness energy- a simple amount but still works.
First off, if you read all my ramblings I thank you in advance. Also please give me feedback, whether good or bad, because I would love to hear it. I don't think this is a meta breaking deck, but it is definitely fun and interesting to play. So have a Nice Day and Thank you again for your feedback!
