18 Pokemon
This is a variant of the Accelgor/Mew EX/Gothitelle deck that I thought I'd play, but it's doing horribly against my Blastoise deck, so I'm wondering if it's worth playing these days or if anyone has any ideas to help me with it. I'm kind of limited on what I can play because I only have 2 Gothitelles and 1 Dusknoir, and I'm limited with what Trainers I can play as I'm lacking on certain staples.
Mew EX is there to copy Accelgor's attack, Gothitelle to prevent the opponent from playing Item cards (when it's the active 'mon of course), Dusknoir to spread the damage around, Sigilyph to wall the opponent if they're playing an EX-heavy deck, and Flareon for late in the game.
I'm having trouble setting up faster than the opponent (which has just been myself so far with my Blastoise/Keldeo/Mewtwo setup). My Pokemon are not bulky whatsoever, so 1 to 3 hits and they're gone. Once I do Accelgor's attack via Mew, I don't always have Gothitelle there, so I send out Accelgor only to be knocked out if the opponent has a Switch and a benched Pokemon ready to strike.
Sigilyph can be a double edged sword. It can stall to help me set up, but it can also allow the opponent to set up as well. And Flareon I'm sure is not all that necessary, but I decided to toss it in there at the last minute to see how it did.
Lastly, the Energy count I've been seeing on deck lists based around this strategy are x4 DCE... and that's it. I don't like having a low number of energy in my decks so I had to add some Psychic and some Prism for Mew just in case I need to use an opponent's attack.
Edited to coincide with the rules!
