Advice on Hosting a Tournament

Hey guys, I'm fairly new here so If I am posting this in the wrong place then let me know.

We have an unofficial Pokemon League at the library that I work at. I am working on having it made official, just waiting on my background check to go through. In the mean time, I am holding an unofficial one. After a few meets, we are going to try to hold a tournament. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on hosting a tournament without the Tournament Operations Manager or if there was some other program that I could use

Anything would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forums, first of all!!

While you won't actually need TOM to run anything except sanctioned events (like your League Challenge tournaments when you get there), you're going to want to get players to sign up and register their Play! IDs online so that you can get more Pokemon League promos sent to your venue.

For the time being, I'm pretty sure you could simple Google an online Tournament Assistant and you'd be good to go.

I find a well run tournaments usually offer advice and are run to a time scale (though obviously allow for unavoidable things) I'd certainly gauge interest first, the unofficial ones are a great way to start off to see what sort of audience is around. You can get a box of energy cards sent to you from pokemon as well, league promos, and packs to give out at events. The bugger it is the more stuff you get such as posters and prizes :)
