Posting this so I can fit in with everyone else. Oh and I'm a master so I actually count.

Click here to see my sub-par Battle Roads run:
Tewksbury, MA (9/1/12) - Terrakion EX/Mewtwo EX/Terrakion NV/Bouffalant DRE
Round 1: So like, I kinda forgot to pass in my registration slip...don't laugh - Loss.
Round 2: Garchomp/Altaria. Loss.
Round 3: Darkrai EX/Tornadus EX/Mewtwo EX/Zoroark BW/Sableye - Win.
Round 4: Terrakion EX/Registeel EX/Terrakion NV - Win.
Round 5: Can't seem to remember - Win.
Round 6: Can't seem to remember - Win.

4-2

Completely blowing my first round was a great way to start the first BR of the season. >.> I lost to a pokemom of all people round 2 because I deaddrew, but then I proceeded to win out by pretty much steamrolling everyone. I'll update with rounds 5 and 6 if/when I remember them.

Nashua, NH (9/2/12) - Terrakion EX/Mewtwo EX/Terrakion NV/Bouffalant DRE
Round 1: Aggron/Sableye/Darkrai EX - Win.
Round 2: Klingklang variant - Win.
Round 3: Eelektrik variant (Mewtwo EX based) - Loss.
Round 4: Terrakion EX/Terrakion NV/Zebstrika/Garbodor - Win.
Round 5: Darkrai EX/Zoroark DEX/Sableye - Win.

4-1

My wins that day were pretty much all steamrolls, an event that begins to reoccur throughout the next few weeks, and my loss was a pretty close one with me taking quick prizes early game, then going for a big play to secure the Mewtwo war win, but sadly whiffing 1 of 3 Pokemon Catchers in deck off a Juniper. :/

Lexington, MA (9/9/12) - Terrakion EX/Mewtwo EX/Terrakion NV/Bouffalant DRE
Round 1: Eelektrik variant - Win.
Round 2: Terrakion NV/Terrakion EX/Groudon EX/Mewtwo EX/Garbodor - Loss.
Round 3: Scrub.dec - Win.
Round 4: Darkrai/Hydreigon - Win.

3-1

Rounds 1, 2, and 4 were all easy wins, mostly due to my opponents dead drawing. 2nd round wasn't irregular, just simply me setting up slow while my opponent got going faster. May have had an energy whiff or 2 on my end but I'm not going to complain so overall that was probably one of my most legit games so far. Oh and I was downpaired both rounds 3 and 4 soooo...

Salem, MA (9/16/12) - Terrakion EX/Mewtwo EX/Terrakion NV/Bouffalant DRE
Round 1: Darkrai/Hydreigon - Win.
Round 2: Aggron/Gigalith DRE/Durant DRE - Win.
Round 3: Terrakion/Mewtwo EX - Loss.
Round 4: Empoleon/Terrakion - Loss.
Round 5: Opponent didn't show up - Win.
Round 6: Zebstrika/Garbodor/Shaymin EX - Win.

4-2

For my more eventful rounds, I took a super close loss round 3 where I probably would have had the game next turn if he hadn't drawn what he needed off of a 2 card N. I felt he played really aggressively and he's fortunate that it ended up working out in the end. 4th round started out great with me taking quick easy prizes but then everything went downhill after I got N'd to 2 mid-game. Round 6 was somewhat close and difficult with his deck being pretty unique but I ended up winning without too much trouble, felt like more skill was involved as opposed to some of my previous steamrolls.

Medford, MA (9/23/12) - Terrakion EX/Mewtwo EX/Terrakion NV/Bouffalant DRE

Round 1: Eelektrik variant - Loss.
Round 2: Darkrai/Hydreigon - Win.
Round 3: Scrub.dec - Win.
Round 4: Garchomp/Terrakion - Win.
Round 5: Darkrai/Hydreigon - Win.
Round 6: Darkrai EX/Terrakion NV/Mewtwo EX - Loss.

4-2

1st round started off great but I ended up getting N'd and slowly fell apart. Next round I nearly lost to, no surprise, a late game N but I managed to get just enough Energy on my Mewtwo to OHKO a Shaymin EX for the win. 3rd round lasted 5 minutes tops but the guy I faced was, although not very competitive, pretty cool so he gets a mention. :3 4th round was pretty much a steamroll due to me getting setup super fast while my opponent couldn't get anything going. My next round was THE closest game yet where my opponent N'd me to 1, I play my hand down to 0 and pass, then topdeck the energy I need to take the win. His reaction was hilarious when I turned over the DCE! Round 6 I got up paired against the undefeated. Both our starts weren't the best but we each managed to get attackers going. The game came down to me whiffing 1 of 2 Pokemon Catchers off of a 5 card Bianca. Really great game, and really tough loss.

Oh but I can say that I lost my binder (pretty sure it was stolen) so you can go ahead and feel bad for me.

Short prerelease story:
Milford, MA (11/4/12) - Draft.dec

I payed $30 to enter a draft, pulled Landorus EX (full art) and Black Kyurem EX (regular) out of the 6 packs, built a bad deck without sleeves that included Landorus EX, managed to get it on the field T1 every game, won all 3 games resulting in a first place victory and winning 8 packs, then proceeded to pull Cresselia EX out of those packs.

Yay me.

Another solid pre-release:
Tewksbury MA (2/3/13) - Draft.dec

Entered another $30 draft and pulled a Lugia EX FA out of my six packs. Unfortunately I didn't get any Plasma Energy so I couldn't use it in my deck, so instead I built a deck that didn't look like anything special but ended up going 2-1 anyway. My lose was to someone who not only managed to pull a Magnezone and Jellicent line, but also a Black Kyurem EX. The guy dropped a Eviolite on the Black Kyurem EX turn 2 and I was simply said "lol". I pulled a Plasma Klinklang out of the 4 prize packs. So yeah, not bad for the price I paid once again.

My Swaggin' States:
Londonderry, NH (3/16/13) - Rayquaza/Eelektrik

Round 1: Rayquaza/Eelektrik - Win.
Round 2: Landorus EX/Mewtwo EX/Garbodor DRE - Loss.

Round 5: Klinklang/Durant w/Salamence DV - Win.
Round 6: Blastoise/Keldeo EX/Black Kyurem EX - Loss.

3-3

I suppose I can share a brief more in depth rundown of my tournament. Round 1 I faced [member]The Pikachu Mafia[/member]. If my memory serves me correctly it was a solid game with no one really whiffing to any large scale. Although I do admit a lot of the time I hit exactly what I needed, sometimes having exactly enough cards to pull off a good play. So if anything, I ran pretty hot, but it still felt pretty good winning the mirror match going 2nd.

Next round I play against a Garbodor variant, not exactly a positive matchup but still winable provided I get a decent-good start and my opponent doesn't explode. But well, what do you know, I start lone Tynamo, he starts Trubbish and goes first. Computer Search, Mewtwo EX, Switch, DCE...donked. He apologized once or twice which I respect, but I just kinda chuckled and said that it's part of the game after shaking his hand.

Going into the third round I'm still feeling pretty good, playing against a Darkrai variant. I see this as a pretty even matchup and whoever comes out on top is probably going to be due to better draws. It was a close game, I definitely didn't get an explosive setup, no supporter drought, but early game I was using Biancas when I would have prefered Junipers. My opponent was able to KO Eelektrik after Eelektrik, with me digging through my deck just trying to find a Super Rod. I put up a decent fight, but by the time I hit my first Super Rod it was too late. He ended up knocking a grand total of a 4-3 Eel line, making the late game comeback extremely difficult. Still a great game, I enjoyed myself.

Rounds 4 and 5 kind of just blend together, nothing real exciting happened. I played against a pokemom playing Emboar, literally for the first 5-8 turns neither one of us played a supporter, probably the first time I've seen deaddrawing on both sides in a while. I'm used to seeing one opponent fail to setup properly and the other player steamrolling. But anyway, after finally getting setup I was able to win pretty easily. Next round I played against a Durant variant. Only problem I had here was finding my Fire Energy for my V-Create Victini, took me until about turn 5 to finally start attacking, but once I started attacking, I had my Keldeo EX down preventing him from stalling my Eelektriks active and it was only a matter of time before I took all 6 of my prizes.

My last round I played against [member]Zangoose[/member]. He had been talking about bad draws almost all day, but was still able to maintain a positive record. Before the game I asked if he wouldn't mind me scooping to him, he said a win was a win so he gladly accepted the offer. We played an uneventful game with me winning relatively quickly, poor draws got to him yet again. Reason I scooped was because I wasn't real confident about making cut with my resistance, and I knew his was better. I honestly didn't expect him to cut at that point, but he ended up comfortably making the cut at the 6th seed. Felt good doing a little favor, after all, he's pretty much my bestie in the Pokemon scene. <3

Lolol...I used the word "brief" to describe this. I seemed to always have more to say than I think at first. Hope you enjoyed reading.

Round 8: Empoleon/Dusknoir/Landorus EX - Loss.

4-4

My first game was simple enough with me starting out slowly but then gaining control in the later parts of the game. Went 4/4 on my lasers and the kid I played against seemed pretty annoyed by the end. That's the kind of thing I'd apologize for, but hey, that's just how this format is. Second game was also pretty straight forward with my opponent never really setting up while I took 6 prizes to his 1. This next round was probably my best. I opened great, but my quick start meant nothing when my opponent was able to Max Potion 2-3 times throughout the game and never allow me to fully have control. In the end it came down to a coin flip that landed in his favor. Wasn't really upsetting, I knew a lot of games would come down to that kind of thing and it was just a really fun game overall. Unfortunately my opponent's record at the end of the day was 3-5 even with that awesome 3-0 start. :[

Going into my fourth round I was still feeling pretty good. My opponent started pretty fast and managed to get a T2 Blastoise and apply pressure early. The game was pretty neck and neck the whole time but according to him he made a bit of a misplay catchering up a Pokemon and taking a KO rather than just KOing the active. Don't remember all the details but I was able to pull out the win in the end. Next round I'm playing against Blastoise/Keldeo once again, but this time my opponent wasn't able to setup so easily. I was faced with another T2 Blastoise but he was never able to really get out much more than that. I won the game without too much trouble, having a decent prize lead in the end if memory serves me right.

Now I'm onto round 6 feeling really excited about X-1. Felt even more confident when I found out I was against a pokedad from my area who I knew hasn't had much success in the past yet. Unfortunately for me he was running Garbodor. I didn't expect the matchup to be too bad, but I think what may have hurt me in the end was my early game lead. He started out very poorly with me almost benching him out T2, but after he finally drew basics and stabilized I had already taken 3-4 prizes. I just assumed that the rest of the game would be simple, but after getting N'd to 2-3 cards I wasn't able to keep my aggression going. In the end I lost in a rather disappointing match, but I tried not to let it get me down.

Round 7 we were seated early. As we waited for them to slowly announce the T16 standings for the senior division, I knew I was starting lone Tynamo. At the time I don't think I was even very worried, just trying to keep calm and whatnot. Five minutes later, we roll to decide who's going first. My opponent ends up going first and flipping over a Landorus EX. You can guess what happened. Going to pause real quick and analyze this though. It's by no means something you have to do, but at this point it's kind of considered polite to apologize after a donk. My opponent...apparently he doesn't think the same way. Pretty sure he didn't even draw his card, just went ahead and attached his Fighting Energy while kind of laughing. I don't really take it personally, I still shook his hand before walking off. But this behavior, which can be considered a little rude, made my already difficult loss a little harder to deal with. I felt pretty crushed. Going into the last round I didn't really care too much. I joked around with my opponent while we both complained about being tired. Pretty sure I could have won if I had thought harder and planned out my plays a little more in advanced. Definitely not a complaint, but more expressing that I kind of gave up on myself. Normally I like to try my very best to win even if there's nothing to play for, but hey, I did what I did and I was met with another loss.

I leave the venue around 8 pm with some friends. After dropping them off, I finally arrive back at my place around 9:30. Those times may be off, but the point I'm trying to make here is I was very tired. Due to lack of sleep I got the few days previous and having a long day, I was left feeling pretty irritable and upset in the end. I went to bed contemplating if going back for day 2 was even worth it but, like most bad nights of mine, I was able to wake up feeling a little better.

~~~Day 2~~~
There's not too much to explain about day 2. I hung out with my friends who either didn't cut or didn't make it past T32. Played some games of Kaijudo, went out for lunch, bought a bit of expensive chocolate. Overall some pretty fun stuff. One of the reasons I still go to tournaments and still plan to is all the wonderful people in the TCG community. Although it doesn't exactly give me the same thrill I get from winning and doing well at tournaments, chatting and laughing with friends relieves any and all negativeness I feel after not doing well.
Kind of pointlessly rambling my thoughts right now, but there actually is one more thing I did worth mentioning. Side events. If it weren't for my friends who were so eagar, I may not have participated, but the staff was running 8 man style Plasma Storm drafts on the side. $15 for 4 packs of Plasma Storm and a chance to win either more booster packs or an exclusive Regionals playmat. I'm always thinking about the money I'm spending, but I convinced myself to play for the fun of it. Not expecting to do well, I just do the regular draft thing and after the group tore through their packs I end up with this beautiful deck:
1x Cobalion EX
3-3-3 Magnezone
4-1-1 Mamoswine
2-1 Donphan
1x Hypnotoxic Laser
4x Metal Energy
4x Fighting Energy
5x Water Energy
7x Lightning Energy
Round 1 I had to play against my favorite TCG player, aka [member]Zangoose[/member] in the closest game out of the 3 I was about to have. He started off really strong, getting a T3 Ability Lucario swinging. He went up about 3 prizes before I began making a comeback that started with a confusion flip of his that went in my favor. Most of this game is a blur, but I did end up winning in the end (I hope you're not expecting a detailed draft game, lol). The game was really close and there was a point where I thought I'd lose for sure, but in the end Cobalion EX was definitely my MVP. I'm sorry I beat him the way I did, but I'm not quite sure if he would have been ready for the next victim...the dreaded Heatmor. 2nd round I'm paired up against 1 Heatmor, 1 Durant, 1 Ether, and 37 Fire Energy. After some mulligan draws, I was able to prepare a nice setup that pretty much gave me the guaranteed win no matter what he tried to do. Once again, Cobalion EX served me well. Going into the final round I was ready for the possibility of a challenging round. [member]Machamp The Champion[/member] was my opponent and unfortunately he started...lone Sewaddle. I went first and benched him out on the 3rd turn with my Phanpy. Surprised but also very happy with my win, I reported my results chose what I thought was the obvious prize to take, a playmat!
That pretty much sums up the highlight of my weekend. I think that I'll end with a few props and slops just for a little change.
Props:
The awesome venue that is Gillette Stadium.
Starting the day out 4-1.
Pulling Cobalion EX and RH Plasma Klinklang out of draft packs.
Winning a playmat.
Seeing some lovely members of Pokebeach again.
[member]Blah[/member] making it all the way to Top 2.
Slops:
My ending record of 4-4.
Blah beating a good friend in T32, lol.
Outrageously long days. (Leaving the house at 6:30 am for day 2 and getting back around 9:30 pm)
Being tired.
That's everything off the top of my head. For not being all that in-depth, I still end up producing a lot of words. To everyone who read the whole thing, props to you.
Please ignore any spelling and or grammar mistakes. Being perfect is for chumps.
How about you actually READ. Unless you actually thought I said that, asked for people to feel bad for me, but found it anyway. Also I know I scrub but I don't scrub quite that hard. You can only wish I went 5-4 so you could have some form of bragging rights.
Why're you upset? I honestly was confused. You were saying you did the second best in the hotel room, so I just assumed. I was almost positive, I apologize for offending you. We're both super tired, you probably more than me seeing as how you got home at what 4 in the morning? Lets put this behind us. :)
PS: Sorry if I was on a power trip, or if it sounds/sounded that way. I was upset, as we're we all.
And just for the record I'm barely even bummed about losing cards.
I'm telling you, dude, I'm bad at this game! :[
On a side note I did get pretty excited when I saw that you topped, what, two cities with the deck? Props to you. That's what I was hoping to do, but I might give the deck a rest for a week or two. I have a bad habit of continuing to play something I'm comfortable with yet never truly improving with it, resulting in my "just below good" (aka missing cut) finishes.
RE: Afro-G's '12-13 Season Tournament Summaries. Updated with cities. (12 CP)
Yeah, I had perfected my list before I went to the first Cities, so it didn't require any real tweaking then. But if a deck wasn't performing to my standards and I knew part of the reason it wasn't was because the list wasn't where I wanted it to be, it would definitely be changed (either all together as a new deck or tweaked for consistency reasons, etc.).
dmaster out.
I updated with both last week and this week's scrubbing since last time I posted if anyone's interested.
Cities are over now. You may now read about my entire experience and laugh. No more updates until States unless I have a very interesting prerelease or something.
This was like my last season. I know that fell, hopefully you can get a powerhouse performance at States, the upcoming regionals and BRs.
