Ruling Alakazam ex vs jolteon ex

Moved from the TCG Help & Advice to the Ask a Professor forums as the OP is asking a rulings question. I've deleted the posts of members who were helping out before, since the rules in the Ask a Professor forum is that only certified professors provide rulings. (Really appreciate the help, though!) I've also added scans of the cards in question, since that is also required here. ~bbninjas
 
Alakazam-EX's attack Suppression has the effect of placing damage counters, which is not the same as actually doing damage, even though the outcomes are similar. Flash Ray only blacks damage, so Suppression would go through.
