So I was browsing around smogon when I came aross this intresting page.

So some guys at Smogon got together and compiled a list of Pokemon based on how good they are in-game. They rated them on How long il you can catch it, how good its stats are, and how good its moves are.

I decided that since I haven't played Ruby in a while, I'd do this. I decided I'd use 1 Top Tier, 2 Middle Tier, 2 Lower Tier, and 1 Untiered.

So here is my planned team and some info on the planned team:


1-Very Early/Starter
2-Early
3-Fairly Early
4-Somewhat Late
5-Late/Cover Legendary
6-Very Late
7-Post Game
High Tier (1)
Mudkip -> Marshtomp -> Swapert (Starter)
Middle TIer (2)
Magikarp -> Gyarados (Early)
Heracross (Somewhat Late, Hard to catch)
Low Tier (2)
Bagon -> Shelgon -> Salamence (Very Late)
Gulpin -> Swalot (Fairly Early)
Untiered (1)
Jirachi (Very Early, Colloseum Bonus Disc)

Day 1- 9/22/12-MY B-day :D

I started my quest today on the way to the DMV. I did the usual, chose my starter etc... I beat may in a fairly easy battle, her Leer was no match for pure Tackle!

I beat the first Youngster in the game and skillfully dodged a bug catcher and another youngster.

I'm still on this route, but I will get Jirachi tommorow and continue in the story!

Day 2 -Late 9/22, 9/23/12
So now I got my Jirachi, my second team member. I helped Wally catch his Pokemon and continue on to Rustburo.

Jirachi takes the lead up until the Team Magma member in Petalburg Woods. I decided on not running from any Pokemon. Jirachi is now Lv. 8. Mudkip completely destroys the grunt's Poochyena. Mudkip grows to Lv.9 after this match.

I clear through Petalburg Woods, my Pokemon in decent shape for this point. lets get moving! I now face the first double battle. Mudkip and Jirachi win no trouble. Mudkip is now Lv.11 and Jirachi is Lv.9.

I decide to challenge the Rustburo gym now, skipping the trainers of course :p.

Now, I have to go get Devon's Goods. No problem. The trainers along the way are a nice source of leveling up. But now Jirachi won't obey until I get the next badge :(. I head up the Devon Corp, to get my messanger quest started.

I now take a ride on the boat and arrive in Dewford Town! I get a SIlk Scarf and give it to Jirachi for a more powerful Swift. I now talk to the fisherman who gives me an old rod, time to catch my next team member!

I catch my Magikarp, Completing the first half of my team. Into Granite Cave! I put Magikarp in front and use the good old lead switching strategy. I give Steven the letter, Jenny evolves in the gym, and I go on to fight Brawly!

Day 2/Part 2-9/23/12
I leave the gym with a shiny new badge and take a ride over to Slateport. I do the little thing where you fight Team Magma/Aqua. Now I go on to the next route and fight some of trainers here. Levels: Jenny Lv.17, Jirachi Lv.16 and Hawthrone Lv.12.

I'm now on a route where I can catch Gulpin, so he will now be caught. I decided to name him Diamonds.

Now we move on to Mauville. this is a good chance to level up Hawthrone and Gulpin! I soon arrive in the city and do the first thing that comes to mind here...beat down Wally!

Alright, now I will fight Wally, but I won't include it here since its really insignifigant. I will now start preparing for the 3rd gym. But first, I will go get a bike and stock up on things at the local Pokemart. I get a coin case and begin to try to get Thunderbolt TM in the Game Corner. I will update this post when I get Thunderbolt!

Day 3- 10/3/12
Today I continued my quest but I didn't have a computer available so I'm going to summarize what happened. not that much happened, though.

I grinded on the routes beside Maville City, and will soon fight the gym leader. Hawthrone Evolved :D!
