Standard Alolan CLUNKtales (Ninetales/Zoroark/Octillery)

This is a fun deck I came up with that actually works fairly well (contrary to the title). The strategy is to use Zoroark's Stand In ability to put Ninetales on the bench so you can Aqua Patch to it, then attach a Float Stone to give Zoroark free retreat, and spam Ninetales's attack just like that. Zoroark also provides a decent back-up one prize attacker and can do a fair amount of damage. One of the best things about Zoroark is how much he helps the M Ray matchup because that is one of the worst matchups here because Ray oneshots Ninetales, which kinda wrecks the Tanky Ninetales strategy. Anyways, here's my list:

Pokemon (15):

3x Alolan Ninetales-GX
4x Alolan Vulpix
2x Zoroark
2x Zorua
2x Octillery
2x Remoraid

Trainers (35):

4x Sycamore
2x N
2x Lysandre
4x VS Seeker
2x Dive Ball
4x Ultra Ball
3x Trainer's Mail
1x Field Blower
1x Special Charge
1x Super Rod
3x Choice Band
4x Aqua Patch
4x Rough Seas

Energy (10):

4x Double Colorless Energy
6x Basic Water Energy

Let me know what you guys think! :)

Hi GekkisaiDaiNi,

Nice deck. The list above does not seem to include Float Stone to retreat Zoroark. Consider these revisions:

Pokémon:
+ 2 Tapu Lele GX (helps to set this deck up turn one with Bridgette)
- 1 Alolan Vulpix (needed the space)

Trainer:
+ 1 Bridgette (awesome with Tapu Lele GX in decks that run multiple evolution lines)
+ 1 Hex Maniac (nice versus item lock and turn one versus Sylveon GX)
+ 1 Professor Kukui (helps to hit magic numbers versus Mega decks)
+ 1 N (nice draw and disruption for Sylveon)
- 3 Trainer's Mail (not needed that bad)
- 2 Dive Ball (not needed that bad)
- 1 Rough Seas (needed the room)
- 1 Special Charge (needed room)

Energy:
+ 2 Water Energy

The revised list would look like this:

Pokemon (16):
3 Alolan Ninetales GX
3 Alolan Vulpix
2 Tapu Lele GX
2 Remoraid
2 Octillery
2 Zoroark
2 Zorua

Trainers (32):
4 Professor Sycamore
1 Professor Kukui
1 Hex Maniac
2 Lysandre
1 Bridgette
3 N
3 Choice Band
1 Field Blower
4 Aqua Patch
1 Super Rod
4 VS Seeker
4 Ultra Ball
3 Rough Seas

Energy (12):
4 Double Colorless Energy
8 Water Energy

You could also consider to tech in a single Manaphy Ex to enable Zoroark to retreat for free since Zoroark and Alolan Ninetales can apply some preasure to compensate for the use of a bench liability. Hope this provides some initial assistance.

Yeah, it does have float stones I just forgot to put them in lol. Knew I was forgetting something...anyways, here's what I messed up:

-1 Field Blower
-1 Rough Seas
+2 Float Stone

Also, about Lele and the Manaphys, that would be absolutely great but I have none of either. Also, I flipped my supporter counts a little and it makes the deck run much more smoothly:

-1 Lysandre
+1 N

Also, Kukui sounds awesome, I think i'm going to try this:

-1 Choice Band
+1 Kukui

Thanks for the help! :)

I'm updating this list after the Lele Revolution (I pulled a Lele and I have another coming in the mail). The deck can benefit greatly from Brigette so I think Lele deserves a space here. Here's an updated list:

Pokemon (17):

3x Alolan Ninetales-GX
4x Alolan Vulpix
2x Zoroark
2x Zorua
1x Glaceon-EX (People hate on this card alot. They say the immunity is,"cheesy" because Lysandre and Ranger counter it. Lysandre doesn't actually get around it, it just buys your opponent a small amount of time before you can get whatever's up front out of the way or buys them a prize card or two. And no one plays Ranger. No one.)
1x Octillery (Needed space so cut the line down to two-one. Has been fine in testing.)
2x Remoraid
2x Tapu-Lele-GX

Trainers (33):

4x Sycamore
4x N
2x Lysandre
1x Brigette
4x Ultra Ball
4x VS Seeker
1x Super Rod
1x Field Blower
2x Float Stone
3x Choice Band
4x Aqua Patch
3x Rough Seas

Energy (10):

6x Basic Water Energy
4x Double Colorless Energy

Lele-Brigette T1 is a really good play for the deck, it lets you get everyone out by T2. If you go second, you can use Beacon and grab whatever you need for next turn and it makes the setup even more consistent. No T-Mail because it's lost me games against Garb so many times that I don't wish to count. 4 N 4 Sycamore 2 Lele has been more consistent than Mails in my testing anyways. Took me a while to take the plunge without them though, but I haven't missed them honestly.
