Alternate Slurpuff Decks

Hey Guys.

So I was wondering.... Is there any deck out there that uses a pretty thick Slupuff (tasting) line besides Seismetoad?? I got bored with SlurpyToad quickly, but still love Slurpy. Ideas??

RE: Alternate Slurpuff decks.

I've seen some Fairy variants use it, but I'm not sure how good it is. I'm not a fan of it.

How about Flareon decks? They have room for cards like this. I wouldn't run a heavy line, but maybe 2-2 for extra draw/discard fodder.

Swampert / Slurpuff is fun to play, but gets Quaking Punched pretty hard. The search power is ridiculously strong, but it's a Stage 2 so meh.

Turbo Florges EX deck. 3 Florges EX, 3 Xerneras, 4-4 Slurpuff. Florges EX does more damage with more fairy poikemon on bench, all while slurpuff lets you draw cards. I havent actually tested the idea, I just thought about it.

Just for fun, I've tried this with my siblings in the unlimited format(with proxies) with Bill and other old draw cards to make an awesome Horror Note Gourgeist deck. Run a 4-4 line of Gourgeist, 2-1-2 line of Meganium Prime, and a 2-2 line of Slurpuff alongside a trillion Max Potions. You're pretty much invincible if you're not actually trying to play professionaly. But, hey. You can't play professionaly in a format with Energy Removal. (which I don't use)

It could be neat to see a Slurpuff tech in the spread damage decks; if you didn't hit a card you need, Tasting and you either hit or open yourself into another play.

You can put in Toad though. If you can item-lock the other player, then you have a good chance of setting up Swampert.

After all, what killed stage 2s? No level ball, no tropical beach, Toad item lock. Dive ball fixes level ball. Slurpuff isn't as strong as tropical beach but it gets you some extra draw. Having your own toad fixes item lock. Maybe it is not perfect but the combo is so powerful, could be worth trying anyway.

I'm now imaginingToadPuff variants in Expanded/Unlimited (whichever it is) using Tropical Beach in place of Virbank. Sure, laserbank is fantastic, but that insane draw...

Guys, please stay of ToadPuff. I would really like a deck without Seis.

It could be good in any deck that just wants to keep attacking with the same pokemon to lock something or other. Like trevenant for basically the same thing, stoutland to lock supporters, or even something with agility/torment like Infernape PLF. The deck itself also needs to rely on only a few bench spots so it can give the space to its draw support. Primal Kyogre could be a good partner for it, though you can possibly get stuck move energy to slurpuff with the attack.

Sorry, sorry! I was just so curious.

Deluge/Slurpuff could be super interesting.

I imagine Slurpuff would help consistency; helps you hit trainers and energy. I dunno, it's conceptual.

I honestly have been testing Mega Manectric/Kyurem/Slurpuff for Regionals. It works pretty well. I strongly suggest trying it out.

I'm also intrigued by this.

[grumbling about lack of M-Manectric because people are really stingy on PTCGO]

I recently tested a Slurpuff/Swampert deck against an Empoleon/Dusknoir deck. I lost and probably need to rethink my build, but it does have it's strengths and maybe with different pokemon (like Miltank), it could end up being something.

On the other hand, Empoleon/Dusknoir is better than ever now that dive ball and teammates are in format.
