I have another problem. The new Infernape released in Diamond and Pearl (5/130) says to Discard all Fire Energy cards attached to Infernape and requires two Fire Energies for that attack.
What if the person attached a Holons Magneton, Double Rainbow Energy or even two Rainbow Energies instead of those Fire Energies. The attach would have its cost but would we have to discard all those Special Energies, because they are working as Fire Energies.

yes, because those cards, like you said, are acting as fire energies when they are attached. Therefore, they must be discarded.

DP is new? o_O Holon Magneton?! Where have you been this past format? Anyways... if the card doesn't say "fire energy card", you can use substitutes like DRE, and Holon Pokemon.

And please note, you'd have to discard them even if you had other basic Fire Energy attached.

Multi-type Energy cards (Multi, Rainbow, DRE, etc.) provide all types at all times while in play. It's not cycling through all colors and you get to yell "STOP" and say "well, this is a Water Energy this turn".

<-- WRONG

It's always considered all types at the same time.

<-- CORRECT

So if something says "discard all [type] Energy", that's always going to include any Multi-types you have attached, because it's always providing whatever type is called for.

You should sticky those pictures!

It shows that it is providing all colors equally, instead of rotating inbetween things.
