not sure if someone has already asked this but say i have xatu and heatran lvx out on my bench. my active is burned. i know i can transfer the burn using xatu but then can i activate heatrans body to ensure the burn does not go away and they always get tails even though i did not burn them orginally?

You can use this Power once at the end of your turn, if this Pokemon is on your Bench. Choose up to 2 Basic Energy cards that were discarded by the attack of your Fire-type or Steel-type Active Pokemon on this turn, and reattach them to that Pokemon.
Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 4
It's burned , doesn't matter how it got there , the body applies when ever your oppontent's pokemon is burned.

thats what i thought but when i was playing i was told it didn't cause i did not burn them to start off with
Who said that , that was a incorrect ruling.
it was my friend. it was just more of a deck practice with the heatran lvx to see how he goes. i wasn't 100% sure so thats why i asked today
