Any chance that we'll get forum themes?

So as much as I love the default PokeBeach theme, I looked at the settings a few minutes ago and noticed that there aren't any others. D: I hope it doesn't sound like I "expect better", but I think it would be cool to have customizable themes for this site. c:

This has probably come up in the past, but I was just wondering. :)
 
WPM is very busy so I wouldn't expect a new theme for the forums anytime soon.
 
The theme we have now IS a new forum theme.

Perhaps give us the option for the old one, though?
 
Not really. The change happened in late 2011 - not that long ago.
 
The colors we have now are arguably an improvement on the bland theme we had a while back. I'm not sure if anyone still has screenshots of it, but still, I like what we have now. If anybody feels like making some new themes, it'd be appreciated.

Technically that is more than one year, so years or year+ if you will.

It also felt a little longer to me because some Staff at the time had earlier access to it.

The main problem with adding new themes for Pokebeach is that they take a really long time to create. Even this theme was in the works for about a year or more, and it took a lot of effort to do the revamp.
So although it is possible to add new themes, it takes a while - on top of which it's not really high on the overall priority list. News updates and other stuff generally come first.

And yeah, this has come up in the past, but there's nothing wrong with wondering about it.
 
The closest we will ever get to a new layout is a new banner. Other than that, DNA's post pretty much sums things up. The time it takes to make themes that look professional is not worthy of our time over other things that are more important.

There was that, the yellow one, and then this?

Anyone have a pic of the yellow one?
 
Whoa. I really like that photo theme for Pokébeach, honestly. I mean, its a photo of a real beach area!! It just feels so solid to me....

Basically this, new themes are on are the to-do list for the forum. However, there are plenty of pressing matters that need to be taken care of first. Who knows, if you hang around for another year or two you might see some new themes.
