Just curious, is there anyone else here that collects event Pokemon? I myself have completely ignored my national dex completion to simply collect all the different Pokemon that I can from events.

I only started collecting events after I started caring about them. Since then, I have tried to snag every event in English that I possibly can.
My first event was the Gamestop Deoxys, and that was when I truly learned what it meant to soft-reset for something. I have almost every English event worth getting since then, save for the VGC09 Milotic (which I wasn't there to attend) and the Worlds 2011 Scrafty (which I left early because I hated attending).

I try to keep a stockpile of common events so I can give them out to people who couldn't get the event for whatever reason (either because they missed it or they're international).

I can't really get lots of events because of my location...Luckily, sometimes when I go to US there are some events going on, and I at least get a few things.

Anyways, time to tell you about a nice experience from a Gamestop distribution. One time when I went to California, there was the Pikachu-Colored-Pichu event going on. When I finally got the opportunity to go to Gamestop, well, I got the Pichu in Pearl and Platinum, and while I was talking to the guy, I started pronouncing weirdly some words. He then asked me if I came from Mexico (He talked spanish, too), and asked me when I was leaving. I was gonna leave at around 1 week, so I wasn't going to be able to get Jirachi.

Then...He took out the Jirachi distribution card, and told me to dowload it, and I obviously did. Man, that was such a nice guy. I was very happy. : P

So yeah, I don't have lots of events, but I collect them when I can.

Great story! It's always nice to hear when people help others out like that. If you want anything from my list, I'd be more than happy to lend a hand :)

To be honest I've never really attended any distributions. All of the stuff I get is off of a site online where people can negotiate trades. I can always give the site name to anyone who wants to know the place. Also great for shinies and EVs

I go to distributions whenever I'm able to, and if I can't (and care about the event), I'll try hunting around for some of my friends to see if they have a copy they'd be willing to trade me. I'm moderately proud of my event collection.
I don't really care too much for Japanese events, mostly because we'll be getting them later here anyway, and of the ones we don't, not many of them are worth mention...except for that V-Create Rayquaza.

I think the rarest Pokemon I have that isnt an event is a Shiny Bagon out of a Korean game (since the Korean games cant connect through the GTS to the rest of the world)

Hmm... maybe I was mixing it up with the previous generation, as I know in one generation Korea was supposedly locked out from the rest of the GTS

xxashxx - I'm astounded. 2,000 different events? How many games does it take to store it all?

Roughly 500+evenst spawning Diamond Pearl Platinum and part of White version for 5th gen Pokemon. My other events are all on the other 3 games. If you trade on 5th gen take note I have to get it cloned first then transferred to White before I can trade XD. All my 4th gen events stay on 4th gen XD. So this is how I trade 4th gen events now. If you have a 4th gen game I just have to get the Pokemon cloned before we trade XD.:)_

Last time i counted mine i have at least 15,000 events. Cause alot of event collectors collect nature sets and i f the event has a set nature then collect a characteristic set or date sets

I collect the event Legendary Pokemon, shiny event Pokemon, and sometimes event Pokemon with attacks they normally have.

With Wi-Fi and the game stores that normally have events around my neighborhood, I am able to have access to any event Pokemon that is distributed.

That's your opinion. I will be getting soon a rare Italian Channel Jirachi and Mild Korean Cinema Celebi, Just got a shiny mystery egg event axew and i will later on get the other 2 egg events shiny. They can be shiny. to get shiny you have to do what is done for ranger manaphy.
