Ruling Archie's Ace in the Hole and Greninja Line

Suppose I used Archie's Ace in the Hole to put Frogadier into play from my discard, and then evolved it into Greninja during the next turn. Would Greninja count as a stage 2 even though it technically did not evolve from a stage 1, such that it trigger's Miltank's Powerful Friends attack?

Greninja would be considered a Stage 2 Pokémon regardless of how it was put into play. So the answer is, yes, Powerfu Friends would still do the extra damage even if you use Archie's to play down a Frogadier or even the Greninja directly.
