Ruling ARE Holon Magnetrodeform xamples of SPECiAL ENERGY?

YUP, Holon Castform/magnetron/electrode are considered as SPECIAL energy cards when they are attached to a pokemon.

So, if the attacking pokemon is Electrode HL and he has the holon energy attached to it then, it cant do Mass destruction. right?

Only when they are attached to a pokemon. But in hands and discard piles, they are just pokemon.

Umm, so Power Tree will NOT pick Holon Electrode out as a special energy in the discard pile, allowing me to get one basic one out of the discard? Thats it?

The Holon Pokemon dont count as energy cards while in the discard pile, deck, or hand. They only count as Pokemon cards there. They only count as energy cards when you specifically play them as energy cards (i.e. when they're attached to a pokemon).

If they are in your discard pile then you can use PowerTree to get a basic energy (providing there's no special energy cards in there).

So pokemon retriever is a good card to include in LBS decks isnt it?
ofcourse
and power tree is also good ofcourse.

Holon's Pokemon do not count as energy cards UNTIL they are attached to a Pokemon. So things like Cacturne ex won't stop them from being attached.

Yes. It counts as a special energy card when IT IS in PLAY.

That's why LBS decks play 2-4 Power Trees.
