Are Japanese Secret Rares Different in Print Tone than English Versions?

I've seen some Japanese printed secret rares and the borders look more copper than gold, which I think looks a lot better, is this just a difference in how they are photographed, or are they really darker?

If so, I think I'm going to start collecting Japanese ones rather than English ones.
