Well, around these parts, Eevee is a VERY popular Pokémon, so I thought I would do an art history of the little critter. First up:

Eevee's debut card: The Jungle set. Nothing real special, just a basic Himeno illustration.

Next, the Team Rocket set. I think this drawing has a poor center of balance, but other than that, not bad.

Himeno also did a promo Eevee card and decided to make it.... orange. What? I think it looks too fluffy in this picture, and the head's too small. Hmm....

This is the Eevee from the unreleased (in America) Vending Series set. Pretty mediocre.... Too bad I can't read who drew it. Wait... Is it turning around, or standing there looking straight at you? Because its ear is behind its tail, which doesn't make much sense....

Neo Discovery... aww, little Eevee is in a laboratory full of dangerous chemicals! How cute! :p Nice light colors, as is the style with Kusube's old drawings.

In Skyridge, Kuzuki took a stab at drawing Eevee. Now it's admiring some ancient cave drawings. I like the bold lines that Kuzuki includes in all of his/her drawings.

Eevee's first EX series card... done by Kouki Saitou. A nice pose and all around good illustration.... though I wouldn't call it Saitou's best. Niiiiice.

Well, that's just TERRIBLE. Miki Tanka keeps up his/her classic tradition of drawing CRAP. This has to be one of Tanaka's worst ever... and that's saying something.

Here's Delta Species Eevee in the Delta Species set. Many artists started a new style of putting Pokémon on their side for the EX sets(see HP Meowth, Dark Deoxys), as seen here. I don't like it as much as the traditional style, but it's okay...

A lot of people think this is one of the best illustrated cards ever, but it just doesn't do anything for me.... I think Nishida's Light Dragonair is better, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

POP3 Eevee... Like 99% (that one % being DS Shelgon) of Fukuda's drawings, this is amazing. It shows you just how cute lil' ol' Eevee is. :D
Well, after all that, I will now say the best and worst.

Man, Masakazu Fukuda is AWESOME!!!!! Just the perfect shading and cartoony feel... Way to go!!!
WORST:
UF Eevee
Well, we all saw that one coming. I mean, how can you expect people to like orange crap like that? And what's with the lame city background? Come on, Tanaka.... you could at least try....

I'm actually not a big fan of Masakazu Fukuda, but I'm going to have to give him the vote here. One of his best works, and it's downright adorable (like most Eevee cards, though the Aquapolis one kinda le himself go). Nishida Delta Species is the runner-up.

And for the record, the Vending one is Mitsuhiro Arita. Pretty underwhelming even for one of his earlier works.
 
that UF eevee isn't that bad

I have to agree that pop 3 is good, Masakuza is a great artist, but nowhere near as good as kouki, excellent shading, perfect background and an in-action pose like always, so, well, my vote is (again) for kouki

the skyridge is the worst IMO, I think taht eevee is one of miki's best
 
Ahh the POP3 evee is getting annoying. It's definately the best, but I pull it in EVERY SINGLE POP3 pack I get. :(

but it's definately the best. but i disagree with the worst. I think it's the promo one, it just looks so weird.

I voted for the gym heroes one for Lt.Surge

That eevee just looks so cute with the background... just so precious :D

I think some of them are just plain bad... that POP3 one isn't the exact worse though.
 
I've always, always thought the Jungle Eevee was average and didn't live up to be the first Eevee card ever. I was glad when I found the TR Eevee, I liked it much better.

Yes, Unseen Forces Eevee is crap. But my sister poninted out it looks like it's on walk on Nintendogs and I haven't been able to look at it without cracking a grin from then on.

Skyridge Eevee would probably be better drawn by someone that isn't Kuzuki. I just don't like his style.

Heh heh, I like Neo Discovery Eevee. But what's weird is I have that card in Japanese but that art is different. o.o Maybe it's a promo card? I'll scan it later. EDIT: Here.

I would have to say either Delta Species or POP3... This thread would be better as a multi-choice poll. Is that possible on this forum?

Whoah, that's weird. I have a regular Japanese one, without that alternate artwork... That one was probably a promo....

Eevee d' (DS...just got it's rev.holo last Sunday)
 
Well.

Jungle Eevee, I was never a fan of, something about the picture still bugs me to this very day.

Rocket Eevee, I like this Eevee, tail and eyes bug me, meh, I still used it for a while. Looks a bit angry.

Promo 11 Eevee, realy cute, I wish I owned one T_T

Vending Eevee-Um... to Persian-y

Lt Surges Eevee-Fox-fection! Wish I had one. Just like Lt. Surges Raichu from challenge. Oh well.

Neo 2 Eevee-Looks like it's in Silph Co. Building or on Cinnibar... cute though.

Aqualopolis Eevee-Er... no thanks.

Skyridge Eevee-I quite like it, don't want it, but like it.

Sandstorm Eevee-Cuteness again, even a little better than Sugimori's Eevee.

Unforseen Forces-Er... no thanks.

Delta Eevee(1)-Cute... cute. All I can say about it.

Delta Eevee(2)-I want this in reverse, cute, looks sort of like a real fox and is decent.

Pop3 Eevee-I want it, on the same teir as Sandstorm in my books.
