Art of the Week!​

Art of the week is a an art competition that takes place once every two weeks. You can read about the rest of the rules, regulations, and procedures, of this competition here.


This weeks theme is.... Darkness. Make your entry dark, gloomy, or sad. Use dark colors, and try to make it as dark and spooky as possible.


Since this is a now a two week contest, we are hoping to get at least 10 competitors. Please sign up! ^_^

If I were to win I would choose the theme 'Energy'.

I don't do dark & gloomy/grunge type banners....& I'm not going to change my style @ all.

-__- Darkness isn't the greatest theme, I admit. The problem is that no one is sending me theme ideas.... I like the "energy" theme idea, so that will certainly be put to use. Thanks FC.

I like this dark and gloomy theme. And you guys surely need to start being more flexible, bending to all sorts of styles and themes more.

Darkness wasn't the best theme, yeah. I actually like energy a lot. And I'll be entering ;)

Once you develop a specific style though, you're most likely to use it without even thinking. Just look at pros, you can tell if it's from one artist to another. The closest thing to dark I can do is b/w, and I've tried 3 times to make something for this theme. Can't force art, sorry :/

(OK he is also part Steel but we all know that is like the 3rd most evil type)

PS: Darkness is actually a really great theme, flexible enough to work with but still rather defined. Easily the best theme yet...

What makes a person pro is their infatuation of innovative ideas when building a piece. True, they may develop their own personal style in the making, but to even further perfect that style, they constantly keep constructing that style and making it adapt to other themes and style. Genuinely, an artist will always make adaptions to other people's art style or themes. It's what stretches their professionalism.

My personal opinion, you are ranging from high mod to low inter. So youre not too far from semi and pro, imo.

I've never entered one of these before, so I guess I'll give it a go, though I've no intention of winning.

I read the rules and I think it would be okay to submit this...
