Ruling Ascension

Ok, I fill a bit ridiculous for asking this question considering the fact that I have been playing pokemon for many years but I really need to ask because I'm confused with it..

Question:
For example, Shuppet(CG) uses its Ascension attack, then you search for Banette & evolve it, so my question is can it attack directly after that since it stated there "This count as evolving Shuppet"??

Thanks in advance... :D

P.S. Sorry for being an idiot... :)

No, you have still used your one attack for the turn, so your turn ends immediantly after the effect resolves. It's okay, we all have are stupid moments (mine with Queenoir and Fossil Excavator --_--)

Ok, so you can't attack with Banette after using Ascension, yay... :D
Then why on earth they must put there "This count as evolving Shuppet", does anyone here knows what is the purpose of that line??

Thanks in advance.. :D

I suppose just as clarification, thoughI'm not sure. I guess if an attack said, if your opponent evolved last turn, then that would be needed. I think they just feel it's needed, while it is redundent.

Also, it means Banette counts as an evolved pokémon and thus can use certain criteria-based attachments. Banette can then also devolve in situations. Attacking is a phase: you declare an attack, resolve effects then proceed to the following turn. It doesn't backtrack due to attacks.
