Ash's age

If someone told you about a year in someone's life, a day at a time, and told you about it once a week, it would take them 365 weeks to do it - Just barely over seven years.

So it took seven years to tell a story of a year's events. A year has passed in story time, but seven years passed in real life time. The people in the story have only grown a year, but you have grown seven years listening to that story, being told little by little.

So no, Ash shouldn't be 19. I believe right now according to the anime he's 13 years old.
 
Actually there are about 52 episodes per year and we are comming up on the 500th episode so he is 1 year and a half older meaning Pokemon age and if you are counting that way he is only 11 and a half years old. For example take 52 episodes of Pokemon and add up 52 +52 more episodes and the another 52 episodes and so on it ads up to about 520 episodes now if there was a new episode every single day of the year then he is about 11 and 4 months old or so. I just thought of this just a few minutes ago so in real life though he would be about 19 or 20.:)
 
No, Ash birthdated 3 times.
* When he got to Veridian for 2nd time
* At 3rd Movie short
* After he comes back from Hoenn
So he's 13 years old.

:S Since we cannot agree on whether he is 13 or 20, Let us take the number between...*counts* Ash is 16.5 years old.

Just think about it...

Ash should be 14 or 15 because he said he was 13 when he got his last Johto badge and it will probally take him a year or two to beat Hoeon and the Battle Frontier so he will be probally be 14 or 15 years old. But I don't know why they didn't make him taller in the D & P episodes because he's the same height as Dawn who's 10.
 
The anime only references the passage of time in a few spots. First, in the very first episode, Ash states that he's 10. then, in the Earth Badge episode, Brock says he can hardly believe it's been a year since they were last there. Then, before the Indigo Plateau arc, there's a 2 month time skip. (What's funny is that before each subsequent tournament, it's also 2 months before it starts. o_O) Other than that, there is no other way of knowing how old Ash is. So he is no younger than 11 1/2 years old. :p
 
in that world it is about half a year per season so they are in their 10th season so i would say that he is about 15 years old
do you guys think that that is the semi-correct math?
 
I find this odd but they have mentioned May's age at the beginning of Hoen and she said she was 10 and the same goes for Dawn. She is 10 so if they are both ten then Ash is14 or 15. I did not think of this until now.:) EDIT How old is Tracy? Idon't think his age was ever mentioned. So I think he is 14 now that I think about it. I think he ages every time he gets a new partner so those ages must be about right 14 or 15.:)
