Ruling Attaching Energy

Hi Everyone,

I have a few questions about energy attachment that need clarification. I'm new at this, so please bare with me. I have the links to each card below the question.

1. For Hydreigon's "Dark Impulse", can my opponent attach a double dragon energy if he chooses it to represent dark, or does it have to be an actual physical dark energy? Does this apply to any special energy? For example, can he attach a blend energy as long as he chooses it to be dark?

2. For the same card above, if my opponent has two Hydreigon's in play, can he use the ability for each card? Meaning attach an energy twice, once for each ability?

3. In general, can an ability be used twice if two of the same card are in play? Like Swampert for example, if my opponent has two of this card in play, can he use the ability twice and search for two cards to put on top of his deck?

4. For this Tangrowth's "Hundered Furious Lashes", if I have a special leaf energy attached to me, it still counts as part of the 30X, regardless if it's special, correct?

5. For Articuno's "Find Ice", can I choose a Team Aqua double water card as one of my cards? Since it is water and there is no specification for "Basic" ? Or can I choose a blend energy, or rainbow energy as long as I choose them to be water?

1. It must be actual dark energy, as blend, rainbow, etc. only provide every type of energy when they are attached to a Pokémon.

2. Yes, Once per turn, per ability. Unless the ability specifically states so. (Like the Victory Star ability on Victini)

3. #2's answer kind of addressed this, but as far as Swampert goes: yes and no. They couldn't be used at the same time. It would really be pointless because they would have to shuffle the card they put on top with the first ability when they use the second one.

4. Yes, because Herbal Energy provides [G] energy.

5. Similar to Hydreigon's ability, it would have to be water energy, because the other cards only provide it when attached.
