Ruling attack problem

If my active pokemon was damage by an attack says If the defending pokemon tries to attack during your opponent's next turn. Your opponent flips a coin. If tails, that attack does nothing. If I switch my active pokemon with another pokemon and I attacked with the new active pokemon, should I flip a coin to check the attack is fail or not?

No. When an attack references the defending pokemon, benching it removes the effect of the attack (unless it says something otherwise).
