The idea of the deck is reducing the damage I receive as much as possible while healing and stalling so I either manage to charge Avalugg so it can start dishing out more damage or just gather a lot of energy cards so Huntail can hit hard while having damage done to it reduced to a minimum. I provide some healing with Pokemon Center lady and Rough seas. I've been testing the deck a little today and while I've been winning mostly I feel I was just lucky, the deck can sometimes come to a crawl and if my opponent uses escape rope or lysandre to bring other pokemon besides Avalugg or Huntail (namely the fossils) I have a hard time retreating. I wanted to put some switches in there since the floaty stone thingy would occupy the slot reserved for the Hard charm. So any thoughts on this? I appreciate your feedback.

You don't need 17 energy. No good decks run 17 energy. To start, I would get rid of 4 Splash Energy and put in 4 VS Seeker.

-1 Amaura
-1 Aurorus
-1 Bergmite
-1 Avalugg
-4 Splash Energy
-2 Water Energy
-1 Lysandre
-2 Skyla
-3 Pokemon Center Lady
-2 Professor Birch's Observations

+1 Clamperl
+1 Huntail
+2 Shaymin-EX (If you have it)
+4 VS Seeker
+4 Professor Sycamore
+2 N
+4 Trainers' Mail

If you can't do Shaymin I would throw in a Swampert from PRC with Archie's Ace in the Hole.

Woah, that's a bit broad don't you think? While 17 is too much for this deck (we can utilise that space better), I'm sure a very good deck builder could make a deck with lots of Energy and function very well.

I personally don't like Avalugg as a card as it requires a lot of Energy to attack, but let's see if we can make it work! If you've got 'em and want to play Expanded, you may like Beartic NXD, which does a similar as Avalugg but uses less Energy. Anyways, I don't think Avalugg and Huntail will work well both in this deck - I think you should focus on one or the other. I can imagine that one of the lines will be a dead-weight during a lot of matches. Do you find yourself gravitating towards using one or the other in matches? I think focusing on an ultra defensive Avalugg or a defensive-aggressive Huntail would be better for your deck. Anyways, here are my recommendations for an Avalugg-focused deck below:

-2-2 Huntail (As mentioned above, I don't think using both lines would be good in a single deck - but feel free to prove me wrong! ^.^)
-2 Lysandre (I'm going to suggest a card called VS Seeker, which means that you won't need to use this many Lysandre.)
-2 Skyla (Skyla is a useful in a clutch situation, but you are going to need to use more powerful Supporters for most of the game, so with VS Seeker in your deck, we can use this space a bit better.)
-2 Pokemon Center Lady (I don't think Center Lady is all that great, to be honest, as this 60 damage may not always be impactful. That said, I have seen games turn around with a well-timed Center Lady, so a single copy would be great, since with VS Seeker we can reuse it.)
-2 Professor Birch's Observations (I suggest using Professor Sycamore instead. It is much more reliable in drawing cards than Birch, and your deck needs those cards.)
-2 Hard Charm (Hard Charm is great, but I don't think you need four. I think we can use this space better.)
-1 Water Energy (You could probably get away with only eight, as you can attach an Energy on all of your Pokemon and still have two spare.)
-4 Splash Energy (There are cards like Sacred Ash that we can use without needing to attach a Special Energy, which you would want to avoid as they are much easier to discard from the likes of Enhanced Hammer.)

+1-1 Octillery (I think this deck will really like some extra draw power, and Octillery is another [W] type! My concern is only Bench space, as with Octillery you'd need to sacrifice the space for a fourth Aurorus.)
+1 Wailord-EX (I think this card would be great for your deck, as its insane HP means nothing can realistically 1-hit KO it, except for [G] types. This would be very valuable during your set up phase.)
+3 Professor Sycamore (This is a very powerful card, as it guarantees a new seven cards. You probably chose not to use it initially due to the discard factor, but there are ways around this.)
+2 N (Another powerful Supporter that adds a bit of disruption to your deck while also giving you the opportunity to reshuffle your hand rather than discard it.)
+1 Assault Vest (If your opponent runs Special Energy (and many decks do), then this is Hard Charm on steroids! I would definitely recommend it.)
+1 Sacred Ash (Did you discard too many Pokemon off Sycamore? Sacred Ash helps that problem out.)
+0/1 Energy Recycler (If you find you're running low on Energy, this would be a really helpful.)
+3 Exp. Share (You will rarely have the turns spare to attach Energy to your Aurorus to bolster their defenses, but with Exp. Share, they can't be Lysandre'd and KO'd as easily.)
+2/3 Switch/Escape Rope (A lot of your Pokemon have high retreat costs, and if they get Lysandre'd, they probably will be sitting ducks. With a couple Switch and an Escape Rope, you'll be to escape from those tough situations much easier.)
+3/4 VS Seeker (I nearly forgot to mention these! VS Seeker are vital in any deck, as they mean you can access virtually any of your Supporters on the go, if you've discard them somehow.

Hope you find this helpful, and good luck in your testing!
