Ruling AZ Clarification

If I use AZ on an my evolved pokemon do both the Stage 1 and Basic Pokemon return to my hand or just the Stage 1 card?

All of the Pokemon cards, such as the Basic Pokemon and any evolutions, regardless of stage go back to your hand with AZ. The game considers all these to be Pokemon. Anything else attached, including Tools, Energy etc is discarded.

One exception to note is in the case of Pokémon cards that are attached to the Pokémon you chose to pick up, such as Electrode BS and Unown Q MD which have effects that attach them to one of your other Pokémon as an Energy and a Tool respectively. In this case, these cards would be discarded.
