Sorry if this is a duplicate thread, I looked but did not see one.

AZ says you pick up the pokemon and discard all the other cards attached.

What if the pokemon is a stage 1 or 2. Do you pick up the lower evolutions as well?

You return all of the Pokemon cards, including the basic and evolution stages to your hand, but discard anything that's not a Pokemon, such as tools, energy, etc. The "Pokemon" refers to all of the Pokemon cards involved, similar to how Rescue Scarf worked. Contrast this to Base Set's Scoop Up, which specifically states to only return the basic to your hand and discard everything else.
