I was wondering if the old baby rule (the one w/ the coin flip) was still in effect...

the official site still has it in their Expert Rules list... under "In what order do you attack?"

Just wondering...

i think it's still in effect...sometimes i 4got about the baby rule too one tym,but my opponent didnt notice cuz ts not written in the baby pokemon card anymore...i wish they put the text reminding to flip a coin before inflicting damage again so it would be fair to baby users...

Can you remind me of what that rule was? sorry if i sound like a noob but i started playing with the release of DP.

the rule is..if the defending pokemon is a baby pokemon and is attacked by ur active pokemon,u flip a coin,if heads the attack is a success, and if it's tails, the attack does nothing...

close, if it's tails the turns ends without an attack...

The Baby rule is still in effect on Baby Pokemon.

Now, pay very close attention.

Basic Pokemon with the "Baby Evolution" Poke-Power ARE NOT BABY POKEMON.

There has not been a Baby Pokemon printed since the WotC days (Skyridge, I think). All the Baby Pokemon had the Baby Rule printed right on the card. So if it's not there, it doesn't apply.

...I was waiting 3 mins for him to finish typing that... but I didn't expect that... oh well... kthxbai

The Baby rule is an infinite source of frustration for judges. I wanted to make sure I was very clear :)

Baby Pokemon actually state "Baby Pokemon" as their Evolution stage. The new Basic Pokemon with "Baby Evolution" are just that -- Basic Pokemon with a Poke-Power. Nothing special about them.

PUI would do the game a great service by just excising every mention of the Baby rule from the rulebook. The Baby rule was always printed on the Baby Pokemon card, so this is easy to re-file under the general "do what the card says" rule.

Pokemon that say BASIC are not babys you may think they are but they are not. so no the baby rule isent around anymore
