are the sets that are playable at the moment.
 
Its HGSS-on, meaning you can use cards from HeartGold& SoulSilver, Unleashed, Undaunted, Triumphant, Call of Legends, Black & White, Emerging Powers, Noble Victories, and Next Destinies when it comes out. So no, Pop series 8 is not legal.
 
What everyone already said. But as always, you can still use cards from older sets that have been reprinted in the current legal sets. :)
