BASE SET VS BASE 2

hey guys i am new at this i just wanted 2 know what box is better the unlimited base set unlimited or the reprint base set 2

*I'd try for 1st Ed, Base set (but then again, it's much harder to find), so for Unlimited Base Set.
 
Base set because it was the first set ever made and most of that sets cardsell high. The Base 2 cards were remakes of the Base set so there was not as much value to have in those cards but they were fun to collect anyway.:)
 
Neither set can be used for competative play, so it depends on what you plan on using them for, and what kind of budget you have.

Light Venusaur, those aren't incredibly hard to find, but they're incredibly expensive ($600+).
 
1sr edition base Charizard goes for $275-$325. That was a few years ago but I am not sure what it is now. There are a few others with that price range. Probably Blastoise and Venusaur and also the Base Zapdos is very high because it is a very good card. I wish I had one.:)

Especially in terms of 1st Ed cards, condition plays a huge part in price. A PSA 10 can go for $1000+, and a bent one can go for $75-.

Other than Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur, the price difference between the unlimited cards is $2 at most (Zapdos $3.50, Chansey $1.50).
