Ruling Basic Stages

Hi guys!

This time I introduce you a specific problem witch “basic” Pokémon:
Cards in question(s):
Garchomp Lv. X from Majestic Dawn
Machamp from Stormfront
Aerodactyl from Dark Explorers
Cradily from Plasma Blast
Serperior from Legendary Treasures
Mega Venusaur EX from XY
Pyroar from Flashfire

Question is simple:
If any of your Pokémon (in this case Garchomp Lv. X or Cradily) can cause your Stage 1, Stage 2 or Restored Pokémon (in this case the representatives are Aerodactyl for Restored, Mega Venusaur EX for Stage 1 and Serperior for Stage 2) to act like a Basic, may they:
a) be Knocked Out by Machamp's attack?
b) not attack Pyroar?

Thanks for answers ;-)

Well, Cradily's Lifesplosion does not have the text of Garchomp Lv. X that says the Pokemon you placed on the bench is a basic. So, you have to distinguish between the two. Unevolved is not equal to basic. In either case, Machamp's attack would knock them out. But Pokemon put into play via Lifesplosion are not basics and therefore could attack Pyroar.

For future reference, you might want to include images or text for Machamp and Pyroar. It was assumed that you were referring to Stormfront Machamp and FlashFire Pyroar for rather obvious reasons, but you should always clarify anyway.

Meaty: I included all cards mentioned in that questions as hyperlinks… anyone who wanted to see the exact text could just click on those. ;-) I always formule my questions like this one and it was never problem for anyone whether professor or another viewer.

I apologize, for some reason I totally missed Machamp and Pyroar in that cluster of links. >.< I guess I didn't figure they were there since you mentioned them later...? I don't know, that was just silly of me, nevermind.
