DPPt/HGSS Battle Towers + EVs - Higher Than Lv 50?

Just a quick question - I've EV trained a team for the Battle Tower, but it's not going too well (33 win streak is my highest at the moment, which is still quite a long way off the 100 win streak goal!). However, I've only trained them up to Lv 50, as I thought that was good enough due to the Tower level being set at 50.

What I'm wondering now is if there's any point in training higher than Lv 50? Do they get higher stats, or keep an extra gained EV stats?

They'll just get higher stats proportionate to their level - the growth seen from EVs will still be present. In truth, the Battle Tower in Generation 4 will auto-adjust all Pokemon above level 50 down to level 50, with all the EV gain intact.

So, you don't have to train them higher than level 50, but it won't matter either way, actually.
