Ruling Beautify vs. Sandslash, which first?

This situation came up in a game yesterday and neither of us knew exactly how to handle it.

Sandslash has the Spike Armor attack: "During your opponent's next turn, if Sandslash is damaged by an opponent's attack (even if Sandslash is Knocked Out), put 4 damage counters on the Attacking Pokemon."

Beautifly has the Giga Drain attack: "After your attack, remove from Beautifly the number of damage counters equal to the damage you did to the Defending Pokemon."

My opponent had Sandslash and used Spike Armor and I then attacked it with Beautifly's Giga Drain on my turn. Does Beautifly take the Spike Armor damage first and then heal from Giga Drain, or does the Giga Drain healing happen first and then the Spike Armor damage comes second?
