I have always been interested in the potential of Beedrill, especially in a meta dominated by tag team pokemon. Now with VMAX pokemon making an entry into the format the possibility for an instant KO on a single prizer remains intriguing to me.
With no nest ball or ultra ball the viability of this deck was lack luster, I tinkered with Rowlet Eggs but it was too clunky and playing a three prize pokemon on your own negated the whole strategy of the deck.
Now with the introduction of Quick Ball and Evolution Incense I believe the deck can possibly work.
I have played some game with my friends, particularly against Zacian ADP and Pikarom and have had more success than I expected. While there were games where I was not able to set up properly and imploded, there were many where I set up effectively and some I was able to get out of tight spots to end up victorious.
The main issue I am running into is draw power. I am almost always playing from a small hand and have therefore decided to add a second line of Zebstrika . I also made cuts to play more draw supporters, specifically Cynthia and Erika's Hospitality. Overall, I am pretty impressed. It is going to be the next BDIF, probably not, but at the very least it is a fun rouge deck and some of you might want to try,
I am always looking for suggestions and comments. There are so many players out there more skilled and experienced than myself. I have not taken this list to any league cup or competition, only casual play with a few buddies who I consider decent players. Any input is highly valued.
Pokemon: 15
4 Weedle
3 Beedrill
2 Blitzle
2 Zebstrika
2 Spiritomb
1 Jynx
1 Mew
Energy: 7
4 Rainbow
2 Grass
1 Aroura
Trainers: 38
4 Rosa
3 Cynthia
2 Erika’s Hospitality
1 Professor Magnolia
1 Guzma & Hala
1 Bill’s Analysis
4 Quick Ball
3 Pokemon Communication
2 Net Ball
2 Evolution Incense
4 Rare Candy
3 Lillie’s Poke Doll
2 Switch
2 Pokemon Catcher
1 Great Catcher
1 Reset Stamp
1 Hustle Belt
1 U Turn Board
I likely want to make a cut to play a fourth Poke Doll. Maybe I will cut a switch as it can act as a switch even if the opponent plays Absol. The Suppoter count is also up for adjustment. I think the Rosa count is critical and I really like Erika’s in this deck as I am often playing from a small hand size and I often had critical combo pieces that I cannot afford to discard with Prof Magnolia. I might want to play a Red’s Challenge over the Guzma Hala since as of now it is primarily used to get the Rainbow energy and Reds would allow me to get either a special energy or a critical Rare candy or a Beedrill for a OKO combo.
Let me know what you all think.
