Ruling Bench filling and evolution

Now, if I'm correct, I can use Weedle to snag, say, another Weedle, and on my next turn, evolve into Kakuna, right?

Like, what counts as a full turn cycle? If it goes right to the bench from an attack, that happens before the turn ends, right? So I can evolve next turn?

I figure so, but while I'm on, I might as well ask and get it out of my mind.

Correct. At the END of your attack your turn ends. So, CFF is an attack which is part of your turn, before it ends, so weedle ends up on your bench before your turn ends.

I find it better to state the rule as "a Pokemon must be in play continuously since the start of your current turn to be able to evolve". It's functionally equivalent.

Attacks that retrieve Pokemon and put them on the Bench get resolved before your turn ends. So on your next turn, you can evolve them, because they have been in play from the start of that turn.

Excellent responses, Daroach and Kaga, and thanks a bunch for clearing this up. ;)
