I'm playing mainly on TCGO and came up with this deck idea. I'm trying to keep it on a budget generally. On TCGO for me this basically means not spending next to no irl money. I'm also new to the pokemon TCG but have player other TCG's so forgive me if this isn't viable at all. I haven't built this yet but if i'm going to try to gather the cards I'd like it to work relatively well so any advice is appreciated. I'm playing pretty casually as well.

  • 4 Lampent NVI
  • 4 Chandelure NVI

Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 25
  • 2 Lysandre FLF
  • 4 Tierno PHF
  • 2 Pokémon Center Lady FLF
  • 2 Professor's Letter XY
  • 4 Robo Substitute Team Flare Gear PHF
  • 3 Level Ball NXD

  • 3 Rare Candy PRC

Energy: 10

  • 2 Mystery Energy PHF

Strategy:

The core strategy of this deck is to use the Darkrai-EX to swap out Chandelures for Cursed Shadow damage and then use an Aegislash or Noivern to sweep the bench. Earlier in the game it would be more of a focus on wiping out the major threats I suppose.

When coming up with this idea it started out as just killing the bench as the core idea in my mind. As I looked at cards that might work I found Chandelure and eventually came to the Darkrai/Chandelure combo which lead me to this.

I know that most decks have much lower numbers of core Pokémon usually and don't have so much evolution in them. As a result I am concerned that this core line up might not even be viable. I'm open to suggestions on major changes to basically any aspect of the deck but have 2 major things I want to stick to as much as possible.

1) Keep most of the cards so that they are obtainable in packs XY and newer.
2) Keep most of the cards to ones that aren't hugely sought after so that I might trade for them.

These "guidelines" basically are to make it easier for me to eventually build the deck on TCGO without spending much money on it. Trading for a few choice cards should be do-able but otherwise it's going to be hard to make a deck.
