Best way to sell cards?

I need to get rid of thousands of my cards. What would be the best way to categorize them for sale? Is it best just sell the whole lot? Several small lots? Or should I forget about selling anything pre-Black and White since only B&W is considered playable now? (I still have tons of those, I'm just not sure if I should mix all eras of cards together)

Small lots is a good way to go and throw them up for auction on ebay. You can also try to put together sets of commons, uncommons, rares - or put the same pokemon from different sets together to sell better.

If you are looking to turn and burn then I would just recommend going to the buyers section and contacting someone who is looking to buy bulk lots of cards. It's way faster and easier to do that but you obviously won't make as much money. Selling cards is all about patience - if you have the time and you price reasonably then someone will buy your cards eventually. Then again, time = money. ;)

Go to the Trading Corner and find some people who will either trade for or buy your bulk. I had zero luck on eBay. I think trollandtoad will buy your bulk off of you too.

I agree, selling cheap singles on ebay is not worth it at all unless you own a store and move a lot of stuff or have the ability to post a ton of items for variety. The best way to sell singles is by having a site but that's usually beyond what most people are willing to do with their cards.

I'd say sell locally or on the forums. Shop owners will either not want your cards, or give you even worse offers than trollandtoad/forum users imho.

No Troll and Toad gives you 0.02 per common/uncommon. 0.03 per rare and 0.05 per HOLO... =_=.

Selling on eBay isn't worth it it either cause of the shipping costs, the fees and the hassle of mailing small lots. Cause no one wants to buy a big lot and pay for shipping once it goes over a pound in weight.

I got rid of 800+ cards for only 60$+ minus 8$ for fees... So 52$ profit. They sold really slow at first... But one Saturday I sold like 8 orders at once and had to refund three since I ran out of cards lol.

Still better than troll and toad which I would made 20-30$ and pay 15$ to ship and wait 2-4 weeks...

I think if you trade bulk here you still get a better deal and some will help with your shipping costs if its over a certain amount...

Here's my advice...

People who buy bulk are either resellers in their store or parents/grandparents buying for their kids... They want a cheap deal since...

Comic stores and many eBay sellers will sell singles for 1$ each for unplayable cards, yes even some commons are listed for a buck which they don't want. Comic stores can sell less than a buck so they sell c/u for .25 each, rares for a buck and holos .50-4$ (depending on the card) and that's too much for resellers and parents...

Troll and toad sells for about the same but cheaper most areas...

You're gonna have to beat their rates and sell them in a way that appeals to parents and resellers.
Find a value that beats selling to TnT but not too high and store priced. Mention what sets they could be from too.

I hope this helps.
