I am posting my personal experience on ebay about 5 days ago. I bought 3 packs of D&P:Legends awakend, the transaction was smooth, the seller had the (best offer option) so i sent an offer for 1.5 dollars(he had them posted for 4.5 dollars) and he accepted! , and the packs were shipped quickly.. i was excited opening the packs only to be shocked to find the fake cards !!!!
And i made a mistake by not reading the sellers negative feedbacks (he only had 4 in 1400) and i found that the negative feedbacks were from people complaining about the seller selling FAKE pokemon cards !! i opened a case against the seller and it is pending ..

Darn these fake produscers/sellers.. an expert can tell right away that they are fake, but the in-experienced might get tricked..

I will list the differences that i know to help prevent anyone else from falling in this trap:
1) The Packs:
This was hard.. i didn't know till i opened the pack .. i saw fake cards before but this was my first time seeing a fake pack .. They really look real.. but when i compared to an original pack there is one major difference: the POKEMON logo: the Fake has a lighter shade of yellow, but more important is that it DOES NOT HAVE SHADOWS! what i mean is, if you look at a pack , chek the letters of the word POKEMON, the letters have shadows under the blue marking of the letters.. the Fakes do NOT have that shadow.. that way i could tell easily ..
I included the photo from that ebay seller auction for you to see..

2) The cards : this is easier to spot .. and i found an article from a person on ebay and i will quote him/her ( i do not claim the rights to this article in the following link on ebay community) it has a nice photo comparison as well.. i will copy the article anmd paste it here.
FAKE pokemon cards on ebay
[QOUTE]THE EASIEST WAY TO SPOT A FAKE POKEMON CARD IS TO LOOK AT THE ENERGY SYMBOLS DISPLAYED ALONGSIDE THE ATTACK AND AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CARD. A FAKE CARD HAS MUCH DARKER AND MUCH LARGER SYMBOLS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CARD AND NEXT TO THE ATTACK DESCRIPTION.
THE STAR SYMBOL IS THE MOST NOTICEABLE AND TAKES UP THE ENTIRE CIRCLE AND LOOKS A LITTLE OFF CENTER WHILE A REAL CARDS STAR SYMBOL TAKES UP ABOUT HALF OF THAT CIRCLE.
NEXT, LOOK AT THE PRINT IN THE SECTION DESCRIBING THE ATTACK, ALMOST ALWAYS THE FAKE CARD FAILS TO PUT AN APOSTROPHE OVER THE E IN POKEMAN. QUITE OFTEN IF YOU LOOK AT THE CARD CLOSELY, YOU WILL FIND SPELLING ERRORS AND WHEN COMPARING THE SAME 2 CARDS SIDE TO SIDE YOU WILL SEE DIFFERENCES IN PRINT FONT SIZE AND TYPE (AS SEEN IN PICTURE) . ALSO THE FAKE CARDS ARE JUST A SHADE DARKER IN COLOR THAN THE REAL CARDS. AND FINALLY WHEN THE FAKE CARD IS PUT IN A DECK OF REAL CARDS IT IS USUALLY JUST A LITTLE BIGGER AND EASILY PICKED OUT AND THE EDGES ARE ROUGH AS WELL.[QOUTE]

Also the corners are not really rounded on the fakes.

I was really frustrated and mad ... The seller just offered a refund if i returned the cards.. that's all !! i refused the refund and escalated the case to Ebay.. i told them i will only send the cards/packs to ebay, police or whatever authority which takes care of thes scum bags..

I hope this helps !!
Regards

Technically your fault there. That's why you should ALWAYS check feedback before you buy on ebay.

Let this be a lesson.
