With the reveal that came out just around fifteen minutes before I started writing this, we see two new cards that may very well be setting a trend in terms what Forbidden Light will bring to the table. I, of course, am referring to what is shaping up to be a Lysandre Prism Star centric deck. We now have a new pokemon (Pyroar) and Stadium (Lysandre Labs). This outline at least a rough estimate of what we can expect.
Pokemon (>10)
Here are some pros and cons for this archetype from what we have right now:
Pokemon (>10)
- Litleo (4)
- Pyroar FBL (4)
Pyroar – Fire – HP120
Stage 1 – Evolves from Litleo
Ability: Unnerve
Whenever your opponent plays an Item card or Supporter card, prevent all effects of that card done to this Pokemon.
[R][C][C] Dominate Dang: 80+ damage. If Lysandre Lab is in play, this attack does 60 more damage.
Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Lysandre Prism Star – Trainer
Supporter
You can’t have more than 1 Prism Star card with the same name in your deck. If a Prism Star card would go to the discard pile, put it in the Lost Zone instead.
For each of your [R] Pokemon in play, put the same number of cards from your opponent’s discard pile into their Lost Zone.
You can play only 1 Supporter card during your turn (before your attack).

Stadium
Pokemon Tools in play have no effect (both yours and your opponent’s).
This card stays in play when you play it. Discard this card if another Stadium card comes into play. If another card with the same name is in play, you can’t play this card.

- Lusamine (2)
- ???
- Fire (2-10)
- Burning Energy (0-4)
- DCE (4)
Here are some pros and cons for this archetype from what we have right now:
- Pros:
- Pyroar not affected by Guzma, E. Hammer, C. Hammer, or Xerosic and Lysandre in Expanded.
- Mainly Fire deck means that Lysandre Prism Star "exiles" many of your opponent's cards
- Compatible with DCE
- Disable Float, cripples anythuing with a DWN switch Engine
- RIP Golisopod GX
- Cons:
- Damage not OHKOing any GX
- Could use CB, but can't because of Stadium
- 2 Retreat, worst in the game
- No reliable way to keep Stadium up, and therefore obtain damage modifier
- Break only used for a 40-HP boost, so not super crucial in many situations
- Pyroar cannot get out until T2 at the earliest, barring a Wally, which is not your ideal T1 supporter.
